Revenge: A Love Story

A kind of peculiar entry in the grotesque thriller category, as it makes an effort to “justify” a man that kills pregnant women taking away their unborn babies.

The film starts with this particular man, Kit, performing the aforementioned action on cop’s wives and subsequently, killing their husbands. Eventually he is caught while trying to get away from a crime scene and as he is interrogated in the police station, the film makes a flashback to the past to explain his life story. Months earlier, Kit was selling steamed dumplings in front of a small neighborhood grocery store. Eventually he meets a young woman named Wing, which is actually a mentally challenged high school girl. The two of them form a relationship despite her grandmother’s protests and after some time they run away. Not having anywhere to live, they end up in a prostitute’s apartment where an

This week's new films

Take Shelter (15)

(Jeff Nichols, 2011, Us) Michael Shannon, Jessica Chastain, Tova Stewart. 121 mins.

After a year-long disaster-movie onslaught, apocalypse fatigue could well be setting in, but this one's worth the extra effort – particularly since it's less about the end of the world than the threat of it. That plays large in the mind of Shannon's modern-day Midwestern Noah, who sets about building his underground ark. His wife worries more about his mental health, and their day-to-day problems. Brilliantly constructed and performed, it's a domestic saga infused with haunting, unnamed dread.

50/50 (15)

(Jonathan Levine, 2011, Us) Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth Rogen, Anna Kendrick. 100 mins.

The Knocked Up of cancer movies? Not quite, but this is funnier and more frank than most terminal illness movies. Gordon-Levitt is a potential victim, to whom Rogen offers blokey support.

The Deep Blue Sea (12A)

(Terence Davies, 2011, UK) Rachel Weisz, Tom Hiddleston. 98 mins.

Davies again recreates postwar Britain, this

Sola Aoi Stars In Evil Nurse 2

It's become a bit of a running joke in the Indonesian film industry: Hire a foreign porn star, have her remain fully clothed in your film, surround with pretty young things and a few good scares and, presto! You've got a hit film!Maxima Pictures are the prime movers with this particular formula, one that takes advantage of the notoriety porn queens have in the nation thanks to the underground trade in their films, none of which are available legally. And they're at it again, casting Japanese Av girl Sola Aoi in the upcoming Suster Keramas 2 (Evil Nurse 2).But while it's easy to knock a company like Maxima for putting formula over story - which they clearly do - the flip side is that...

Trailer for "Three Points" starring Jun Murakami and Sola Aoi

The official website for Three Points has been updated with a link to a trailer for the film on YouTube.

The film is separated into three parts all directed by Masashi Yamamoto (Junk Food, Man, Woman & the Wall), with segments set in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Okinawa. The Tokyo chapter features an odd love story starring Sola Aoi and Jun Murakami, The Kyoto chapter features a bunch of rappers, and the Okinawa chapter is an improvised documentary featuring various different people in succession.

The only plot information available is for the Tokyo chapter. Aoi plays a girl named Saki who’s saved from a street gang by a Tokyo drifter named Iga (Murakami). Iga gets hurt, but refuses to go to the hospital, so Saki lets him stay with her. After just one night, he disappears. However, one day Saki returns home and is surprised to find Iga has also returned…

A question on acting, sexy acting, acting sexy, and sex.

(Yessirree, that is Sola Aoi in the picture here and believe it or not, her presence and attire are entirely fitting given the context of this column...)

Scores of films exist about people having to deal with the sometimes questionable past and / or professions of loved ones.

But what of the profession of "acting" itself? Over centuries the esteem of actors has changed a great deal, from the level of prostitutes to super-stardom, and sometimes even both at the same time.

Indeed, in the 17th century it was perfectly normal to hire your favorite actress as an escort, including sexual favors, provided you were rich enough to bid for a certain night.

Nowadays this is not a common practice of course (rumors about certain actresses and the Sultanate of Brunei notwithstanding) but the sheer amount of eroticism and nudity in today's films does give "acting" a certain lewd slant at times.

What's That coming out of my screen? Big Tits Zombie 3D UK DVD Review!

.

Warning: there is at least one Nsfw picture inside.

Peruse at your own peril...

Remember when we all marveled at the simple-yet-brilliant title of "Lesbian Vampire Killers"? Well, that title got topped big time this year by "Big Tits Zombie 3D". And yes, I include the "3D" in the title even if Terracotta's DVD-release doesn't, because it makes the film sound ever so much funnier.

And, to make sure the film would make good on at least part of the title, Sola Aoi heads the cast (and no, I just meant she plays the lead). This also ensured much Internet coverage as the famous Japanese porn actress is amongst the most Googled names on the Web. You wouldn't believe how many people end up here at Twitch because they typed "Sola Aoi" in a search engine...

Needless to say our earlier coverage of this title was (and is) well-read indeed,

Sola Aoi And Juno Mak Star In Psychosexual Thriller Revenge: A Love Story

It would appear that Josie Ho and her 852 Films banner are aiming to single handedly bring the Category Three film back into Hong Kong's mainstream. The Cat III, for those unaware, is essentially Hong Kong's R rating, the category reserved for the most violent or most sexual - or, in some cases, those films containing true life gang content - films allowed to be distributed in mainstream Hong Kong cinemas. In the late 80s and early 90s Hong Kong had a thriving Cat III scene in their film industry with producers turning out stacks of cult titles and hard edged horror but in recent days these films have all but disappeared.

Well, Ho is now two for two as a producer. First came Pang Ho-Cheung's gory slasher Dream Home and now they have cast Japanese porn star Sola Aoi opposite local boy Juno Mak for psycho-sexual thriller Revenge: A Love Story.

Big Tits Zombie 3D (aka Big Tits Dragon, 2010) Movie Review

With one of the greatest titles in recent memory, a Japanese Av idol packed cast and an entirely superfluous 3D gimmick, it’s little surprise that “Big Tits Zombie 3D” has become an international cult sensation, enjoying great success at midnight shows all around the world. Based on Rei Mikamoto’s manga, ‘Kyonyu Dragon’, the film was directed by Takao Nakano, who was previously responsible for such delights as “Sumo Vixens” and “ExorSister”, not to mention the utterly charming and aptly named “Sexual Parasite: Killer Pussy”. Basically “The Evil Dead” with strippers, the film’s main appeal comes in the statuesque form of its female cast, headlined by gorgeous Japanese porn actresses Sola Aoi and Risa Kasumi, with support from popular pinup girl Mari Sakurai and controversial comedian, Minoru Torihada. Although still packing in the crowds in cinemas, the film now arrives on region 2 DVD and Blu ray via Terracotta Distribution,

Big Tits Zombie: DVD Review

Director: Takao Nakano. Review: Adam Wing. Well they do say that two is company, but when it comes to big tits in another dimension, does anyone really expect me to believe that three is a crowd? Takao Nakano certainly has his hands full on this one, helming a movie that not only comes with the most intriguing title of the year, but quite possibly the coolest twist as well. Big Tits Zombie is a Japanese splatter-fest delivered in good old-fashioned - headache inducing - don’t forget your cheap cardboard glasses - state of the art 3D. With less emphasis on state of the art and more emphasis on cleavage. That’s right guys and gals, if it’s half naked babes wielding chainsaws you’re after, look no further - Terracotta Distribution has just unleashed the film for you. With Japanese adult stars Sora Aoi and Risa Kasumi on their tail,
