Rob2K Productions sent us this brand new official movie trailer for the upcoming film “Universal Soldier: Regeneration” by director John Hyams (The Razzle Dazzle, One Dog Day) and starring Jean-Claude Van Damme (The Eagle Path, Universal Soldier: The Return, Street Fighter), Dolph Lundgren (Conan, The Expendables, Icarus), Andrei Arlovski (Ufc), Corey Johnson (The Fourth Kind, The Bourne Ultimatum) and Zahary Baharov (Air Marshal, Fake Identity). Synopsis: With stolen top-secret technology, terrorists have created a next-generation Universal Soldier - an elite fighter genetically altered into a programmable killing machine. With this “UniSol’ (Former Ufc Heavyweight Champion Andrei “The Pit Bull” Arlovski) leading the way, they seize the crippled Chernobyl nuclear reactor, threatening [...] »

The trailer for Sony Pictures Home Entertainment return to awesome with Universal Soldier: Regeneration is full of Dolph, full of Van Damme, and full of explosions. It’s full of one more thing, but I can’t really say that on a family site such as this.
Top billing on this trailer goes to Andrei Arlovski, who, don’t get me wrong, is a monster in mixed martial arts, but to get billing over Van Damme and, especially, Dolph is a sham. Nonetheless, this trailer looks pretty wild, the movie looks to kick some massive butt, and the fact that it’s going straight to DVD instead of getting any kind of theatrical release is almost as much a travesty as Dolph not getting his name spoken first.
Universal Soldier: Regeneration hits DVD shelves on February 2nd.
Yes, you read that right. Jean-Claude Van Damme may have turned down a role to play along with Stallone and friends and his star-studded action fest, but he and Dolph Lundgren still get to party in this third installment to their Universal Soldier franchise. I say “their” because there were two made-for-tv sequels to the first Universal Soldier that starred Matt Battaglia as the title character (making this the fifth Universal Soldier film).
Check out the trailer after the jump.
The last time we got treated to Jcvd suiting up as Luc Deveraux was a decade ago in 1999’s Universal Soldier: The Return and although this movie is ridiculous -- they’re threatening to blow up Chernobyl -- I was smiling while watching the trailer. »

Even after Jcvd completely deconstructed his image and legacy, Jean-Claude Van Damme continues giving the people what they want in the form of straight-up action movies. Coming this January he revisits the terrain of Universal Soldier with yet another movie, Universal Soldier: Regeneration. Yes, it's going directly to DVD, but that doesn't mean the chance to see Van Damme, Andrei Arlovski and Dolph Lundgren duking it out won't be appreciated. Check out the trailer below for just the kind of artillery and catchphrases you've come to expect. Universal Soldier: Regeneration comes to DVD on January 5th. »
"The militant Islamist Chechen Basayev abducts the children of the President and takes control of Chernobyl, threatening to unleash a radioactive cloud unless his demands are met. Luc Deveraux (Van Damme), now a Universal Soldier again, joins a new team of UniSols secretly held in deep storage. Their mission is to retake Chernobyl and disable explosives that will unleash radioactive clouds. Luc discovers that one of the reactivated Universal Soldiers is a clone of his old, homicidal Sergeant, Andrew Scott (Lundgren). He also must face the Ngu, the next generation in the UniSol biotechnology."

The first look at Director by John Hyams' explosive reboot of the great Universal Soldier franchise has hit the nets and thanks to industrious fan and Qe reader, ipusticki, we get to be one of the very first to cover it.
When a team of former Soviet radicals seizes Chernobyl and threatens to unleash a lethal cloud of radioactive gas one hundred times deadlier than Hiroshima and Nagasaki combined, the Us military brings in a bio-mechanically enhanced super soldier, Luc Deveraux (Jean-Claude Van Damme), to foil the plot.
As Deveraux fights his way into the plant, he faces off with his now revived former nemesis, Andrew Scott (Dolph Lundgren), and a newly ‘updated’ Next Generation Unisol (former Ufc Heavyweight Champion Andrei Arlovski), in a battle of battles, and must save the day.

Jcvd and Dolf Lundgren re-unite for John Hyams's 3rd installment to Roland Emmerich's original scifi actioner and as a n old fan of the original film I'm very much looking forward to checking it out. No footage has made it's way to the nets, but early reviews say it's fun on a bun and basically what you would expect which is really all any of us should have hoped for.
We've been given word that the film, which streets on January 5, 2010, is officially available for pre-order on Amazon in both Blu-ray and DVD and have been given a first look at some cover art. We're told it may not be final, but should be close.
