It's Actually Getting Another Season

10 May 2013 10:05 PM, PDT | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

"Community" has surprisingly been renewed. NBC has ordered a Season 5 of the drama-plagued, but beloved cult-hit comedy.

"Community's" renewal is some much-needed good news for the show, which hasn't had it easy. Always on the bubble, "Community" has been yanked off the schedule, benched more than once and suffered from some very public feuds.

"Community" Season 5 will be 13 episodes.

At the end of Season 3, headlines about beef between show creator Dan Harmon and star Chevy Chase surfaced. Then, Dan Harmon left the show. Season 4, which was supposed to start in October 2012, was held until February 2013. While the show was in production, Chevy Chase left.

The season finale of "Community" aired on Thursday, May 9 and matched its highest rating in nine weeks with a 1.3 rating among adults 18-49 and 3.14 million total viewers.

Back in 2008, we posted episodes of Joni & Susanna, the WB web series written by and starring real life BFFs Joni Lefkowitz and Susana Fogel. After that introduction, the two have moved on to work on several projects together, including the upcoming ABC Family series Chasing Life and the play-turned-film Life Partners, which has had some exciting developments since we last spoke with Joni in 2011.

Two years ago, Amanda Walsh and Shannon Woodward starred in the stage version of Life Partners. From our review:

In the opening scene the two are at a pride parade, where Paige (not a lesbian) drunkenly declares that she will not get married until Sasha can too. This is all hypothetical of course, as neither woman is in a relationship. Years pass and Paige falls in love with a man. When he pops the question she says "yes, »

Modern Warfare Season one, episode 23

Community's first big parody: an out-of-control paintball fight on the Greendale campus that references Die Hard, Terminator, The Warriors and more

"What I love about Modern Warfare is that it starts out very grounded. It's rooted in reality, but then it's not afraid to go really conceptual and high art. It's all about early registration. The winner of the paintball contest gets early registration to classes. Joel McHale's character Jeff Winger wakes up one hour later, and the campus is a wasteland, not unlike Danny Boyle's 28 Days Later. And from there it's all about survival. My favourite part of filming the episode was my character [sociopathic Spanish teacher Señor Chang] getting to do a John Woo entrance, »

Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty) is reportedly in talks to join Christopher Nolan’s (The Dark Knight Rises) time-travel epic, Interstellar. She’d be joining a cast that currently includes Oscar-winner Anne Hathaway and Matthew McConaughey. Since she’s started getting more significant roles, Chastain has never really ventured into pure science fiction territory (we’re not counting Take Shelter). She famously dropped out of Oblivion when offered the Zero Dark Thirty role, so we’re excited for her to take on a new kind of film. The two-time Oscar nominee (The Help, Zero Dark Thirty) is currently filming Liv Ullmann »
