Her filmography includes titles such as: Bordertown by Gregory Nava, Welcome Paisano by Rafael Villasenor Kuri, Mariachi Gringo by Tom Gustafson, Viaje Redondo by Gerardo Tort, Tlatelolco by Carlos Bolado, Cherry Palace by Fez Noriega, Ciudadano Buelna by Felipe Cazals and Colosio: The Assassination directed by Carlos Bolado, one of Mexicos biggest grossing films. Mrs. Ruiz has also appeared in more than a dozen other film and TV titles and is a partner of the film production company Machete, which presented Leap Year (Anio Bisiesto) at the Directors' Fortnight for the 2010 Cannes Film Festival, and was awarded with the Camera DOr, a most prestigious award first time given in to a Mexican film.
