'Superman,' 'True Blood' stars Brandon Routh, Courtney Ford expecting a child

16 March 2012 6:45 PM, PDT | Pop2it | See recent Pop2it news »

There is a super-baby on the way! "Superman" star Brandon Routh and wife, "True Blood" and "Parenthood" star Courtney Ford are expecting a baby. The two kept the news under wraps for quite some time, including Ford's stint on "Parenthood."

Routh, who is currently in production for his new series "Partners" tells People, "Everyone on set keeps asking, 'Do you have kids?' And I've had to say, 'Well, not yet!' It's the truth. The baby hasn't been born yet!"

Ford hid the news from her "Parenthood" co-stars. "Flu and food poisoning excuses only work for so long," she says, "and by the last episode I could no longer button my pants! I just tried to joke that I had a big lunch."

We wish mom and dad the very best! This is going to be one good-looking baby! »

15 March 2012 4:32 AM, PDT | AfterElton.com | See recent AfterElton.com news »

Darren Criss was reportedly offered the hosting job for The X Factor next season, but turned it down because he was too busy. Simon Cowell can't seem to catch a break, can he?

A five-year-old boy, who has never had his hair cut, is now going to because the kids at school tell him he looks like a girl. Teachable moment lost?

James Franco evidently had a spare five minutes and booked an arc on Nick At Nite's primetime soap Hollywood Heights. The show will premiere in June and air five nights/week.

Marriage equality opponents have officially launched their petition signature drives in Washington state and Maryland.

I read A Gay Marine Reflects on the End of 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell," and I admit I bristled a bit at what I read. There's a lot of conflict and painful actions in that story. But I reminded myself that we »

There’s a baby on the way for Brandon Routh and Courtney Ford!

The couple, who married in November 2007, will welcome their first child this summer, they tell People exclusively.

“It’s been so hard keeping the news to ourselves,” says Routh, 32, who’s currently filming the CBS pilot Partners.

“Everyone on set keeps asking, ‘Do you have kids?’ and I’ve had to say, ‘Well … not yet!’ It’s the truth. The baby hasn’t been born yet!”

Staying silent was tough on Ford — who just wrapped a six-episode arc on Parenthood as Lily – as well. »

Parenthood Post Mortem: Find Out What the Finale Has In Store After 2 Major Game Changers!

21 February 2012 8:07 PM, PST | TVLine.com | See recent TVLine.com news »

[Warning: If you have yet to watch Tuesday's Parenthood, avert your eyes now! And we repeat, if you have yet to watch Tuesday's Parenthood, avert your eyes now! Everyone else, read on...]

Tuesday’s episode of Parenthood gave us the moment we’ve been not-so-quietly dreading for months: Upon giving birth to a baby boy, Zoe opted to keep her child instead of giving it to Joel and Julia to adopt.

“My first reaction [upon learning the resolution to the adoption storyline] was that it’s brutal and so heartbreaking,” Erika Christensen (Julia) tells TVLine. “The way that it goes down — it seems impossible and then it just happens.” The actress adds that while Joel and Julia “can’t hold it against Zoe because it is her child,” it’s not something they’ll easily forgive.

Christensen says that, obviously, »

Parenthood Review: Reality Always Finds You

17 January 2012 9:07 PM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

There's not much to say about this episode of Parenthood. Just like our lives, the Braverman's find that "It is What it Is."

I had a lot of expectations after Crosby and Lily's kiss (overseen by Jasmine), but was a bit disappointed in how little they were in the remainder of the episode. I really want to see more of Courtney Ford. Her ability to transform from role to role is impressive. There is nary a hint here of her more nefarious characters from True Blood and Dexter.

When the concert finally arrived, the look on Crosby's face was worth the wait as he watched her play. It was also worth seeing the look on Jasmine's face as she finally understood how Crosby felt when she started seeing the doctor. Everyone agree?

Weird moment: I had a rather disturbing thought while listening to Drew talk to Sarah. He and Mark have remarkably similar vocalizations. »

Ratings: Work It Sags, Parenthood and Body of Proof Tick Up

11 January 2012 9:38 AM, PST | TVLine.com | See recent TVLine.com news »

The numbers for ABC’s Work It were less pretty in Week 2, as the freshman series plunged 20 percent to 5.1 million total viewers and a 1.6 rating — this while lead-in Last Man Standing held rather steady (with 7.9 mil and a 2.2).

On the up side this Tuesday were the 10 o’clock hour’s also-rans. Placing (an albeit distant) second behind Unforgettable, Body of Proof (6.92 mil/1.6) ticked up a tenth in the demo, as did Parenthood (4.84 mil/1.8). (How good was Courtney Ford on P’hood? That show seriously elevates everyone it touches.)

‘Parenthood’ Season 3 Episode 13 Review: Just Smile

11 January 2012 8:38 AM, PST | BuzzFocus.com | See recent BuzzFocus.com news »

This week’s episode of Parenthood brought one of the more thought provoking episodes of the season. The characters followed in “Just Smile” faced incredible inner struggles that they battled to take a stand on and because the Bravermans listen to their heart, everyone came out smiling. There were many lessons to learn this week including humility, bravery, and patience… lessons that we can never grow tired of because each day brings a challenge for any number of these and Parenthood did a fabulous job at displaying that.

Starting off with the guys… Crosby and Adam were being featured in the San Francisco Weekly and Crosby was in for quite a surprise when it was Adam who made the cover. Unfortunate irony does not even begin to describe the amount of disappointment there was coming from Crosby. However, there was plenty of disappointment coming from the couch as well. We »

Tonight's (Jan. 5) episode of "The Vampire Diaries" introduced a new character to the series: Dr. Fell (Torrey DeVitto). Her appearance was brief, but readers of L.J. Smith's "Vampire Diaries" novels got a big surprise when she coyly told Alaric (Matt Davis), "The patients who follow my advice get to call me Meredith."

"It's something we've wanted to do for a while, for the book fans, to bring Meredith into this world," executive producer Julie Plec tells Zap2it. Of course, Meredith a key character in the novels, and some fans were dismayed when the TV series premiered to see that the character had been cut.

Plec and Kevin Williamson kept the idea of the character in mind. "The book fans have, for two and a half years, been screaming at the top of their lungs, 'Where's Meredith? Where's Meredith?'" Plec says. "Meredith was in our original pilot draft, »
