Chris Hayes' comments on the military and the use of the word "hero" prompted a formidable wave of criticism his way, though not all of it necessarily related to what he actually said. On Today this morning, Matt Lauer's current events panel took a swing at the comments for which Hayes apologized. The panel universally condemned the comments, with Donny Deutsch proclaiming that the comment was particularly egregious given that Hayes "looks like a weenie." »

Lindsay Lohan knows that she's right for the role of Elizabeth Taylor in the new biopic "Liz & Dick," regardless of what Rosie O'Donnell may think.
O'Donnell joined the "Today" show panelists Tuesday (April 24), saying Lohan isn't "capable" of the role and that "she needs a lot of help."
When fellow "Today" panel member Donny Deutsch suggested that Lohan is "our generation's Elizabeth Taylor," O'Donnell responded with, "You're out of your mind! You're a crackhead! The last thing she did good she was 16."
Lohan's publicist tells E! News, "I think Rosie should focus on her own career and stop worrying about everyone else's."
And Lohan herself reacted to the tirade Tuesday night at a Star magazine event, saying, "It's funny that someone you don't know at all can say something so intrusive and so knowing. You know, I did one of my first interviews with [Rosie] when I was little. I was so excited. »

During her "Today" show appearance Tuesday, Rosie O'Donnell made it clear she doesn't think Lindsay Lohan should play Elizabeth Taylor in an upcoming Lifetime TV movie. "I think she needs a lot of help. She needs a lot of time away," the typically outspoken O'Donnell said. She continued, "She's had a lot of trouble doing every single movie, including 'SNL.' She was out and not in rehearsal. I think she's not in a place to work."
Lindsay Lohan's rep Steve Honig fired back, issuing a statement to PerezHilton.com that said, "I think Rosie should focus on her own career instead of worrying about everyone else's."
And now Michael Lohan, Lindsay's father, has a few strong words for O'Donnell. In an email to The Huffington Post, Michael wrote:

Rosie O'Donnell made it clear on the "Today" show Tuesday (April 24) that she is not feeling the Lindsay Lohan casting choice for the new Elizabeth Taylor biopic "Liz & Dick."
"I don't think she's right for the role, and I don't think she's capable at this point of doing what's needed to portray that character," O'Donnell says. "I think the interest level in her has waned significantly."
O'Donnell also says she feels sorry for the oft-troubled actress.
"I think she needs a lot of help. She needs a lot of time away," she says.
When fellow "Today" panel member Donny Deutsch suggests that Lohan is "our generation's Elizabeth Taylor," O'Donnell responds with, "You're out of your mind! You're a crackhead! The last thing she did good she was 16."
Lohan's ever-outspoken father, Michael Lohan, tells TMZ, "Who the hell is Rosie O'Donnell to judge anyone, especially Lindsay, who has far more talent than Rosie ever had? »

We’re not going to pretend we didn’t see a Michael Lohan/ Rosie O’Donnell feud coming; we just always imagined it inside some kind of giant steel Cage of Death. “You’re out of your mind! You’re a crackhead! The last thing she did good she was sixteen,” O’Donnell said about Lindsay Lohan on the Today show this morning, when co-host Donny Deutsch suggested Lilo is “our generation’s Elizabeth Taylor.” Lindsay is, after all, portraying Taylor in the upcoming Lifetime movie Liz & Dick. Declared Rosie, “I don’t think she’s right for the role and I don’t think she’s capable at this point to portray that character.” Oh come on, Rosie. Lindsay is not a crackhead! Plus, Mean Girls came out when she was 18 and you know it!
While Lindsay has remained silent about Rosie’s diatribe so far, her dad Michael predictably has not. »

Outspoken star Rosie O'Donnell has slammed TV executives for casting Lindsay Lohan in the role of late legend Elizabeth Taylor, insisting the troubled actress is not "capable" of portraying the Hollywood great.
Speculation the Mean Girls star was set to play Taylor in the Lifetime TV movie Liz & Dick, about the icon's relationship with Richard Burton, has circled for months, and on Monday it was confirmed she has won the part.
The role comes as Lohan tries to rebuild her once glittering career after a series of run-ins with the law and stints in rehab - but O'Donnell is adamant the actress is nowhere near ready to return to meaty acting roles.
While appearing as a panellist on America's Today show on Tuesday, she said, "I feel very sorry for her. I think she needs a lot of time away... She's had a lot of trouble doing every single movie, including SNL (Saturday Night Live). She was out and not in rehearsal. I think she's not in a place to work."
And when fellow panellist Donny Deutsch claimed Lohan is a modern-day Taylor, a fuming O'Donnell snapped back, "You're out of your mind! You're a crackhead! The last thing she did good (was when) she was 16. I don't think she's right for the role and I don't think she's capable at this point to portray that character." »

Jennifer Hudson took the stand Monday in the case against her former brother-in-law William Balfour, who is charged with the 2008 shooting deaths of Hudson's mother, brother, and nephew. Hudson told the jury what her family thought of Balfour. "None of us, myself, my mother, or my brother, we did not like how he treated her, and I didn't like how he treated my nephew," Hudson said, breaking down into tears. In the courtroom with Hudson was her fiancé David Otunga, a WWE wrestler. Hudson testified she knew something was wrong when her mother had not sent her a text and didn't reply to a message. "My sister called my fiancé's phone. I remember it like yesterday, obviously. And he couldn't understand what she was saying because she was so hysterical, and I grabbed the phone from him, and that's when she told me." Prosecutors say Balfour went »

During a heated segment on the Secret Service sex scandal on NBC's Today Show, Rosie O'Donnell got into a full-contact-donnybrook with Donny Deutsch over whether having more women in the Secret Service would tamper down bad behavior. Panelist Star Jones started off the segment by noting that gender diversity "really does add to a company's bottom line... If you put that on the Secret Service, it makes more sense. Did Lifetime make the right decision to cast Lindsay Lohan in an Elizabeth Taylor biopic? Rosie O'Donnell has been keeping a low profile since her talk show on Oprah Winfrey's network was canceled. She had hoped to return to Broadway as Miss Hannigan in "Annie," but announced after auditioning that she wouldn't be treading the boards. So what does Rosie plan to do next? Return to TV.
"On Tuesday, Rosie will be joining Star Jones and ex-advertising man Donny Deutsch on the 'Today' show's 'The Professionals' panel in the 8 a.m. hour," a friend of Rosie's tells me. "She is super excited to be answering viewers' questions and isn't afraid to share her opinion on a whole host of topics."
"The Professionals" was a Star Jones idea that Executive Producer Jim Bell has turned into a regular feature. In fact, the segment has been so popular that there has even been talk of adding a fifth hour to "Today" that would be hosted by the "Professionals" panel. »

ABC's popular dating reality franchise "The Bachelor" is currently under fire because two African-American men are filing a class action lawsuit against the show for racial discrimination, claiming they went to an open casting call to be the next Bachelor and were left out of the normal process because they of their race.

“No!” Deutsch returned. He was indignant. “Why do you stand in the way of love? How can you… Are you the guy who storms the store on Valentine’s Day and starts screaming? »
