For fans of Stephenie Meyer‘s “The Twilight Saga” and its cinematic counterparts, saying goodbye to the series when the final film, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 this fall will be tough stuff. Fortunately, Meyer already has a brand new film based on one of her books ready to go, and it’s one that will appeal to both fans of Twilight and those who have never gotten the teen vampire love story craze. Meyer’s “The Host” is a more adult book that explores similar themes to those addressed in “The Twilight Saga,” but with a much more mature spin. Also, there are aliens (a lot of aliens). And a well-sketched post-apocalyptic Earth for them to populate. The film is officially described as “an enchanting and fateful story about the survival of love and the human spirit in a time of war. "The Host," the movie based on "Twilight" author Stephenie Meyer's alien-invasion romance, isn't hitting theaters until almost a year from now. But the promotional campaign is already in gear.

Behold the first poster for the film, written and directed by Andrew Niccol ("In Time," "Gattaca") and due for release on March 29, 2013. The one-sheet is a riff on the novel's cover, featuring a close-up of a young woman's face with a blue ring around the pupil of her eye.

But really, the most important part of it is the line at the top that says "Author of the Twilight Saga."

"The Host" stars Saorise Ronan ("Hanna," "Atonement"), Max Irons ("Red Riding Hood"), Diane Kruger, Jake Abel, William Hurt and Frances Fisher. »

The First Poster for ‘The Host’ Looks Familiar

Here’s the first poster for the brand new movie based on the Stephanie Meyer Book named The Host courtesy of Open Road Films via Latino Review. You’ll know Meyer’s work as she was responsible for the Twilight franchise (don’t hold that again her though!). We had a trailer for the movie a little while ago which if you missed, you can see here.

The reason I say that the poster looks familiar is because the book had a very similar cover which I’ve placed below too. I quite like this poster, Jon doesn’t but he did point out the similarities here so all credit to him! Saoirse Ronan leads the cast which also includes Jake Abel, Max Irons, William Hurt, Diane Kruger and Chandler Canterbury. The movie isn’t going to be with us for another year (March 2013) so don’t get too excited for this one just yet! »
