Maksim and Valentin Chmerkovskiy now star on one of the biggest TV shows in the United States, but growing up in Ukraine when it was part of the Soviet Union, the future Dancing with the Stars pros had little exposure to Western culture.

Dancing with the Stars will be down another familiar face when it returns for season 24 on March 20.
Cheryl Burke has decided not return to the ABC reality dance competition this spring, the pro dancer’s rep confirms to People.

Dancing With the Stars is bringing back a familiar face!
Kym Johnson, who last competed on the celebrity dance competition in spring 2015 with her now-husband, Robert Herjavec, will make a grand return to the DWTS dance floor as a pro for season 24, Et has exclusively learned. The 40-year-old Aussie will be partnered with Mr. T in the new cycle.
Johnson’s return to DWTS comes months after she told Et in August 2016 that she was officially done with the show.
“I love the show and I love to still be part of it, but you know, I still want to hang up my dance shoes and what a way to end,” Johnson said. “It’s like, ‘Thank you, Dancing With the Stars.”

It’s been 25 years since Kristi Yamaguchi took home the gold medal for ladies’ singles figure skating at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, France.
And now, though Yamaguchi rarely laces up her skates, she’s passed the torch — to her 11-year-old daughter, Emma.
Though her own competitive skating days are long behind her, Yamaguchi tells People she still spends four days a week at the rink with her daughter, who has been skating for five years. Whether she’ll follow her mom’s Olympic path is still up for debate, however.
“Of course at that age, there’s Olympic aspirations, »

Several Dancing with the Stars favorites are unlikely to return for season 24. Derek Hough has moved on to World of Dance and will be performing with his sister Julianne in a dancing tour. Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd will likely be caring for their new baby boy and too busy to join a new season. There might be one returning face however. People.com reports that Tony Dovolani could be coming back to Dancing with the Stars.
Dancing with the Stars audiences might see a familiar face return to the ballroom in the future!
Dovolani, 43, joined the ABC reality dancing competition series in season 2 and stayed on as a pro up through season 22. But last fall, the season 15 Mirrorball Trophy winner took a break for personal reasons.
“It was time to take a little bit of a break. My sister actually went through breast cancer. »
