Andy Whitfield was born on October 17, 1971 in Amlwch, Anglesey, Wales. He was an actor, known for Gabriel (2007), Spartacus: War of the Damned (2010) and The Clinic (2010). He was married to Vashti Whitfield. He died on September 11, 2011 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

Andy attended Screenwise Film & TV School for Actors in Sydney, Australia.
Was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and began immediate treatment in New Zealand [March 9, 2010].
He was born in Amlwch, Wales, and moved to Australia in 1999 with his future wife, Vashti.
Started acting and modeling while working as an engineer and building inspector for a consulting agency.
As a fashion model he took part in approximately 40 advertising campaigns in Europe and Asia.'.
Attended Ysgol Sir Thomas Jones (Sir Thomas Jones School) Amlwch, Anglesey.
Has an older sister, Laura.
Moved to Sydney after graduating from the University of Sheffield in South Yorkshire with an engineering degree, His parents Robert and Pat Whitfield also moved there in 1999 with his sister Laura.
The first episode of Spartacus: Vengeance, 'Fugitivus', was dedicated to the memory of Whitfield. At the end of the closing credits, a photo of Andy was shown with the caption "Our greatest champion".
He was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma and began treatment immediately in New Zealand. As a result, production on the second season of Spartacus: War of the Damned (2010) - which was scheduled to get underway later that month - was delayed. [March 2010]
