Simone Johnson, the daughter of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Dany Garcia, has begun training at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, WWE said on Monday.
Should she make it to a roster, Simone would become the first fourth-generation Superstar in WWE history. Before her dad ever dropped a People’s Elbow, his father and grandfather, Rocky Johnson and “High Chief” Peter Maivia, competed in the ring.
“It means the world to me,” Simone Johnson said in a statement. “To know that my family has such a personal connection to wrestling is really special to me and I feel grateful to have the opportunity, not only to wrestle, but to carry on that legacy.”

WWE Superstar Carmella is a former Laker Girl and New England Patriots cheerleader, so she’s pretty good on her feet. With her legs, she’s deadly.
Ahead of Fox’s “SmackDown” on Friday and Sunday’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view on the WWE Network, TheWrap asked Mella (whose real name is Leah Van Dale) to (moon)walk us through the development of her “Code of Silence” submission maneuver.
“Well, I’m one of the smaller girls in all of the divisions — even when I was in Nxt, which is when I came up with that — so it’s something like, what could I do?” she told TheWrap. “I can’t do a power move. I’m not able to pick every woman on the roster up and be able to do something with them.”
“So what could we do that is believable?” continued Carmella, who is billed at 5’5”. “And really,...

The women of WWE will be getting their own dedicated PPV. We have the results as they happen!
We're in an era where WWE wants to be more progressive towards the female side of the roster and their fans. In the last couple years, we’ve seen women main-event PPVs. We’ve seen them take part in Hell in a Cell matches, Money in the Bank, and even a Royal Rumble. Now it’s time for their first ever all-female PPV called WWE Evolution 2018. Women from WWE’s past, present, and future will be competing, from returning legends to Nxt hopefuls.
Unfortunately, the show seems like less of a big deal when they’re doing WWE Crown Jewel a few days later in a country where women aren’t even allowed to wrestle or even be shown in their wrestling attire.
Kind of takes the wind out of its sails.

It’s been a long time since anyone but WWE has been able to lay claim to being the world’s most successful wrestling organization, but over the course of the past few years, the company’s truly become a super-entity. The opening of the Orlando-based Performance Center in 2013 has allowed WWE to exert even greater control over how the next generation of talent wrestles and acts, while the rising popularity of the Nxt developmental brand has essentially given the company control of the U.S.’s two largest wrestling promotions.
It takes a lot to run a global corporation. Earlier this month, WWE announced that it currently employs 840 people, an all-time high. While many of the company’s employees work in departments that don’t focus primarily on wrestling, others do – and for them, an intimate knowledge of the industry is often required. That’s why so...

WWE Hall of Famer Scott Hall wants to be a full-time trainer in Nxt.
Hall got a taster of what it’s like to live the life of a Performance Center trainer during the WWE Network series Breaking Ground. William Regal brought his former WCW colleague in to help the Nxt Superstars in with their promo class. Hall was shown given one-on-one advice to Apollo Crews, questioning whether the former number one contender for the Nxt Championship “really talked like that, though.”
It seems that the four-time WWE Intercontinental Championship wants more.
“Career-wise, I’d love to be working with the young guys at Nxt,” he told Extra Mustard.
“But I’m not going to sweat that–if it’s meant to happen, it’s meant to happen. I’ve been invited to go down there twice, but I wouldn’t mind a full time gig there.”
Hall would join Regal,...

New WWE Nxt women’s wrestler Kana recently conducted an interview with Channel Guide Magazine to discuss a number of topics, including her experience at Nxt Takeover: Brooklyn, her thoughts on head Nxt women’s trainer Sara Amato, and much more.
During the interview, Kana was also asked about why she decided to sign with WWE and move across the Pacific from her native Japan.

As was previously reported, it was revealed at the latest set of WWE Nxt television tapings that Kana will go by the ring name Asuka. The name has it’s roots in Japanese wrestling lore, as...

Sarah Stock, best known to Tna Wrestling fans as Sarita, has reportedly signed with WWE. She is expected to report to Orlando to serve as a coach and trainer at the WWE Performance Center.
Stock will join lead women’s trainer Sara Amato in continuing to groom the next generation of female stars for WWE. Like Amato, Stock has a long history in the ring herself. Beginning her career in the early 2000s, Stock originally wrestled in her native Canada before taking her career to Mexico, where she first achieved real stardom.
Wrestling for Aaa and Emll as Dark Angel, Stock has spent more than a decade working in Mexico, while also spending time simultaneously wrestling for Tna Wrestling between 2009 and 2012. During her years with Tna, Stock teamed up with fellow Canadian Taylor Wilde to win the Tna Knockouts Tag Team Championship. The two later feuded after Stock,...

Amid numerous allegations of perceived professional improprieties, on March 6, 2015, Bill DeMott officially resigned from his position as head trainer at WWE’s Performance Center. From allegations of racist and homophobic statements plus physically abusing his students, DeMott’s alleged behaviour was so bad that him staying in his position could’ve easily led to more harm than good for now wholly corporate WWE.
Bill DeMott is a 25-year wrestling veteran who comes from another time in the industry, his career starting in 1990 making him one of the last of the top wrestlers broken in during wrestling’s “territory” era. If anything, the territory era wasn’t exactly known for being politically correct, kind, or pleasant in most any way for those who were doing the wrestling itself.
From angles being booked that sensationalised issues of race, gender and sexual orientation, to needing the perception of being “tough” in order...

On Friday, WWE announced the release of former Divas Champion Kelly Kelly. There have been reports that Kelly had been rather disinterested with touring with the WWE, wanting to spend more time with her ice hockey boyfriend, and had been modelling under her real name, Barbie Blank. Kelly spent the last 6 years in the employment of the WWE, having started as a exhibitionist in the revamp Ecw. Much of her in-ring career was spent as a bit part player in a then much stronger women’s division. Despite this, she would become one of the more popular divas in during this time and would eventually become the face of the Diva division by 2011.
Kelly was by no means a brilliant in-ring worker, but Kelly had been the one of the few remaining ‘over’ divas in the WWE, and her release makes her the 5th female to be release from the...

John Cena and Cm Punk have a great history on PPV over the last few years so it’ll be interesting to see how this addition to their series plays out with Punk the clear heel and Cena in his home town. It’s Night of Champions 2012 and here’s our predictions.
Layla Vs Kaitlyn – WWE Divas Championship Match
We’re sorry but the Diva’s division is completely irrelevant these days. Had we got the Beth Phoenix/Kharma feud we’d been hoping for then perhaps we’d give a damn but that’s not going to happen any time soon, nor is Phoenix Vs Natalya which would be about the only other credible match for this title.
All we know is this match pits two attractive young women fighting over a championship belt that has minimal importance to the company and the crowd. You’ll spend more time...
