'SNL': 'Glee' theme song, Bruno Mars and the best of Jane Lynch's episode

Let's try our best to not gush, but Jane Lynch's Oct. 9 episode of "Saturday Night Live" delivered on pretty much every level, living up to the absurd expectations for Lynch's first appearance on the series.

It was, quite simply, a pleasure to see the comedian in her element -- a place few of us have ever had the chance to see her.

The skits themselves were much stronger (like other league stronger) than the offerings from the season's first two episodes, references to "Glee" were obligatory but amusing (particularly the "Gilly" tie-in), and even the muddier moments (Do we really want to end with conjoined twins?) were buoyed by Lynch's presence. Broadway Musical ‘Jersey Boys’ to Get Big-Screen Movie

7 October 2010 12:53 PM, PDT | Fandango | See recent Fandango news »

It’s been a long time coming, but one of Broadway’s most popular (and most entertaining) musicals is finally getting the big-screen treatment. It’s not that no one wanted to produce a movie musical version of Jersey Boys, but that the rights weren’t even up for sale until about six weeks ago. Once they did go on the market, naturally folks went after them hard – with Graham King (of Gk Films) eventually winning out. King is one of the producers behind several major films, like The Departed, The Town, The Tourist and many others. Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, who wrote the book for the musical, will again be writing the script for this movie. Jersey Boys follows the formation of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, and tells the complete history of the...

Oh, what a night -- if there's one musical Hollywood's been eager to get its hands on, it's 'Jersey Boys' -- also known as the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. The production has done killer business, pulling in over a billion dollars worldwide since its debut five years ago, while also earning four Tony Awards (including the weighty Best Musical) and a Grammy when the tunes were put on CD.

With solid success, 'Jersey Boys' powered forward with no Hollywood plans in sight, but all of that changed six weeks ago. The screen rights were made available, an auction commenced and after a big seven-figure deal, Graham King's Gk Films will whip the stage story into a feature film.
