"What we do at Google and what we've done for years is to not inject any subjectivity into these algorithms," says Amit Singhal, Google Fellow and head of the company's search quality, ranking, and algorithm team. "We didn't want to introduce any bias into the mathematical modeling--our modeling is predicting, given a letter, what's the probability of completion."
Singhal is referring to Google Instant, the results-as-you-type feature the company introduced months ago that has been criticized for having a brand bias. When the system was first overhauled, the blogoshere quickly noticed that many Instant queries were dominated by major brands: type E, and the first suggestion is eBay, J gets you JetBlue, V for Verizon, and so forth. (For a rhyming-couplet run-down of our ABCs, head here.) Had these results been bought? Could they be? Singhal is unequivocal: No.
"We stayed true to our mathematical principles," he said in a recent interview with Fast Company.

Could it be...is our bad ass Jack back? I thought I saw glimpses of him this hour, though I heard nary a "Dammit" and he was under cover as a Deutsche arms dealer wearing nerdy glasses. I feel certain Jack is intermittently thinking with his riot baton. One minute he's firmly in charge and the next he's uttering a defeated "fine." When the episode opened with Jack in his car all greasy and sweaty, I had to wonder what he was doing in there, listening to Renee over the earpiece. Grandpa Jack, are you getting too worked up? I'd hate to see Ortiz take over for you even though he has had all that experience in Fallujah. Is it just me, or could Chloe take down Cole with a glance?
As I mentioned, Jack is all greasy and sweaty as he exits his car and tells Renee he has a visual on her.

Bones goes formal for episode 4×05 "A Night at the Bones Museum", airing October 15th. We've got another murder connected to the Jeffersonian (such a dangerous place to work, if you ask me) and Brennan goes on a date with someone else connected to Booth (not his brother, but it'll probably get to him). Check out the synopsis and promo photos below, courtesy of Fox.
Brennan And Booth’S Latest Case Could Change History
Brennan and Booth are called to investigate what appears to be human remains on an electrical fence. The mysterious corpse is later determined to be a mummified Egyptian royal on loan to the Jeffersonian. The anthropological mystery has Brennan in a tizzy, when the Jeffersonian curator prepping the mummy for exhibition is murdered, the team suspects foul play. Brennan’s investigation of the curator sheds new light on the life of the Egyptian royal, turning their case into one of historic proportions.
