Backing for the project is set to come from London-based Catalyst Global Media, which will produce alongside Dan Films.
The $15m film is being put together as a co-production and is set to shoot in Canada, Northern Ireland and Italy.

The Deuce TV show on HBO has cast two veterans from the premium cable channel's list of greatest hits. The Wire's Gbenga Akinnagbe (pictured above) and True Blood's Chris Bauer (pictured below) have been added as series regulars in the porn industry drama starring executive producer James Franco and producer and Maggie Gyllenhaal. The Deuce TV series is created by writers and EPs David Simon and George Pelecanos.
Per Deadline, Akinnagbe has been cast as Larry Brown. He is described as, "...an intense and demanding pimp who physically intimidates his stable of women but also has moments that betray a conflicted, underlying humanity."
