Jeremiah was born and raised in Gadsden, Alabama, along with his older brother. Growing up, movies were a huge part of his life, and his fascination with acting and filmmaking only grew over time. Faced with life in a small town where acting wasn't taken very seriously, Jeremiah did what most small town kids with stars in their eyes do: he turned to sports. He found that the pursuit of excellence in football and baseball became a short-term substitute for his real passion. After graduating high school, he inherited a sum of money, and chose not to pursue sports in a post-secondary school. Instead, he attended a nearby junior college, majored in English and took an acting class. He studied for two years and got up the nerve to move to California. To do this, he needed to sell his four month old house and all of his belongings. He arrived in Los Angeles in February of 2004.
Once in Los Angeles, he dove into the most accessible programs he could find. He studied acting at the New York Film Academy at Universal Studios, where the directing bug bit him hard. He became consumed with the directing process and closely observed the directing students when they went to the Universal Lot to shoot short films. He also trained at the Century Playhouse in the Meisner Technique. Later he trained privately in the Method Technique. Throughout all of his acting training, he continued to teach himself about directing.
Tough lessons were learned after many auditions and initial ventures led nowhere fast. Jeremiah then decided to form his own Production Company, where he plans to showcase his own stories and visionary tales.
He became acutely aware that all of his ambitions needed to have a strong starting point: the printed page. Screenwriting became the next stage in his journey. He read many professional screenplays and started putting his own ideas into script form. He has a number of projects in various stages of development.
When attending the Hollywood Film Institute close to the end of 2005, he combined his love for directing and screenwriting. Self-taught and disciplined, Jeremiah has utilized books, videos, and online courses to keep himself busy and hone his craft.
Jeremiah continues to stay active in the independent film world. As a member of Film Independent, he has attended seminars and lectures, as well as seen many independent films.
He has also continued his physical discipline, having trained privately in the art of Wushu Kung Fu, and Jeet Kune Do. These two great martial arts techniques have been an important component of his craft, as he strives to incorporate their teachings into acting, writing and directing. He is a member of The United States Martial Arts Association, the Wushu-Kung Fu Federation, as well as the World Jeet Kune Do Federation. He resides in Los Angeles, California.
