Ellen DeGeneres, Laverne Cox and More Speak Out on Trump’s Lift of Bathroom Protections for Trans Students

23 February 2017 8:09 AM, PST | | See recent news »

After President Donald Trump withdrew guidelines issued to public schools in defense of transgender rights on Wednesday, celebrities took to social media to sound off against the motion.

The protection, set by former President Barack Obama in May 2016, allowed students to choose which bathroom and locker room to use based on their gender identity. Gender identity, Obama’s administration said, is a civil rights and equality issue.

White House press secretary Sean Spicer said in a press briefing Tuesday that Trump believes the issue should be left to the states to decide.

‘Who’s the (Bat)Man’: Listen to Patrick Stump’s Hilarious Theme Song for ‘The Lego Batman Movie’

7 February 2017 9:57 AM, PST | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

We’re dangerously close to the release of “The Lego Batman Movie,” the spin-off of 2014’s “The Lego Movie” and the second installment in the planned “Lego” cinematic universe, and no matter the medium in which its world, a Batman movie simply can’t exist without a cool theme song to go along with it.

The last time we saw the Lego rendering of Batman (Will Arnett), he was a hilariously pompous, brooding, and gravelly-voiced blowhard, so it makes sense that his film’s title theme is appropriately self-congratulating. With his track “Who’s The (Bat)Man,” Fall Out Boy frontman Patrick Stump takes on singing duties.

With screeching guitar solos, screamo-inspired vocals, and callbacks to the original Batman theme, the song is one humblebrag after the next, and very much fits with the Dark Knight’s sensibilities. »

Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone are comedy trio The Lonely Island. Here are just some of their finest songs and sketches...

Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping was – yep, it’s time to call it - the funniest film of 2016. For those who blinked a little too long and didn’t catch it on its brief appearance in UK cinemas, the DVD release is your chance to find out what you’ve missed: a hilarious parody of current pop music’s excesses that blends acerbic criticism of predatory gossip shows and social media mobs with a sweet story of three feuding rappers struggling to mend their friendship. The fact that this touching tale also features Seal fending off a pack of wolves, Justin Timberlake dressed as a fish, and a bagpiper playing a lament at a beloved pet turtle’s Viking-inspired funeral comes as no surprise »
