Lindsay Lohan's 'Million Dollar Decorators' Drama

21 December 2012 6:59 AM, PST | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

After all the negative feedback Lindsay Lohan received for her performance in "Liz & Dick," the actress is bravely stepping back into the spotlight. Or is she?

At a New Year's Eve party last year, Lohan reportedly asked famous decorator Kathryn Ireland if she could be the subject of an episode of Bravo's "Million Dollar Decorators."

After spending over $200,000 on the actress, Lohan announced she would not be appearing on the show's reveal episode, according to Radarr.

While Bravo stated that Lohan "was not available for the reveal shoot, but we were still able to capture the outcome, just like we do for many of the reveal episodes," Ireland wasn't quite as complacent.

"I didn't know who she was when I met her," Ireland told "The New York Post." "It was only when she said to her sister, 'Wouldn't you love a mother like her?' that I thought 'How rude' »

Lindsay Lohan's Family Loved 'Liz & Dick'

27 November 2012 10:45 AM, PST | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

After reading harsh reviews of her performance in "Liz & Dick," Lindsay Lohan is defending her acting skills and the Lifetime movie that everyone is still talking about.

"We all loved the movie," Lindsay's mom, Dina Lohan, told The Huffington Post in describing her own and her daughter's thoughts.

She signed her email with a happy face above the words "onwards and upwards."

Lindsay, who was left "devastated" after reading some of the vicious reviews that ran before the movie, decided to spare herself the pain and ignore the live debate on Twitter that erupted as the film debuted Sunday night, according to her mother.

"We don't read that," said Dina, regarding the negative tweets.

Although Lindsay and her family are putting their best face on, the most devastating news might be the ratings, which showed only 3.5 million viewers tuned in -- a number well below the viewership of Lifetime's other original movie premieres, »

Lindsay Lohan Devastated By 'Liz & Dick' Criticism, Sources Say

26 November 2012 8:00 AM, PST | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

Friends say Lindsay Lohan wasn't prepared for the harsh criticism of her Lifetime movie "Liz & Dick." And instead of providing the career comeback the troubled star expected, her performance has left many wondering if she will ever be taken seriously as an actress again.

“Lindsay is devastated by the response to the film,” a close friend of the actress tells The Huffington Post. “She has got used to all the negative press around her personal life but this is the first time she has experienced it about her work. No matter how bad things were going for her personally, everyone would always agree that she was a great actress.”

The Hollywood Reporter compared the Lifetime drama to a "Saturday Night Live" skit. The New York Times accused the actress of “sleepwalking through scenes,” while Entertainment Weekly made fun of Lohan’s “frozen face” and “blank stare.”

Is 'Bethenny' To Blame For Killing 'Anderson Cooper Live'?

1 November 2012 10:59 AM, PDT | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

Anderson Cooper has to be wondering how he'll spend his afternoons now that Warner Bros. has decided to discontinue his daily talk show, "Anderson Live," after two seasons. And though the series will not disappear until after the summer of 2013, a new program is already circling Anderson’s prized time slots like a vulture.

"Bethenny," hosted by "Real Housewives of New York" veteran Bethenny Frankel, recently finished a try-out period on Fox, with extremely promising results. “Without any doubt, Bethenny’s six-week test did great," one person associated with both shows said. "She found her voice, but more importantly she found her audience."

Now all she needs to find is a time slot.

“Syndication is a super tough market,” veteran producer Amy Rosenblum told The Huffington Post. “You have a lineup of new shows waiting for current shows to get cancelled in order to take that slot. There are only »

Joan Rivers' Advice To Kate Middleton

1 October 2012 1:40 PM, PDT | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

After a Danish magazine allegedly published images of Kate Middleton sans bottoms, royal observers are discussing the long-term effect the pictures will have on the entire family. While others debate the future, Joan Rivers, a longtime friend of Prince Charles, couldn't help but make a joke about the situation.

"Just saw the bottomless photos of Kate Middleton! Pretty, but she should trim the royal hedges," Rivers tweeted.

Meanwhile, Tom Sykes, editor of the Daily Beast blog The Royalist, says, "There will be no impact at all. They will be forgotten soon. I am sure Kate will continue to sunbathe topless. The only thing that will change is the height of the fences around the pools she is sitting beside."

But Amy Rosenblum, a friend and colleague of Sarah Ferguson, the duchess of York, cautions, "The embarrassing [topless] photographs of Sarah [in 1992] had a long-term effect. She was very young when she made her mistake, »

Does Lochte Have a Future In Television?

11 September 2012 10:03 AM, PDT | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

Returning from the Olympics with gold medals around his neck, Ryan Lochte hoped for a fresh start out of the water and in front of TV cameras. However, after a shaky debut working as a special Fashion Week correspondent for E! News, Ryan’s TV future doesn’t look so bright.

“It always amazes me that because you are wildly successful in sports, you think you can suddenly become a TV host,” Amy Rosenblum, who runs media training company Media Masters, tells me. “It takes years of training to be a great TV host. It’s a real skill that has to be learned and practiced over and over. No one becomes an overnight success on TV -- behind the scenes, they have been learning their craft for years.”

The New York Post reported that the network was already regretting its decision to hire Ryan, but a representative for E! »

Was Rihanna's Oprah Interview A Mistake?

21 August 2012 7:03 AM, PDT | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

A tearful Rihanna told Oprah Winfrey Monday that she and ex Chris Brown are "still close" and "will always love each other" following the 2009 attack that included punching, biting and choking. Now, after the candid interview, domestic violence organizations and fans have blasted the singer for "normalizing" domestic abuse.

"I think Rihanna did the right thing by telling the truth about her relationship with Chris Brown. Lying to media is never a good idea, particularly for celebrities who are always in the public eye and can get caught at any time not telling the truth," Ronn Torossian, CEO of 5Wpr, tells me. "While being with Brown may not be good for the Rihanna brand and Rihanna’s career, clearly people in love don’t always make rational decisions -- celebrities or average Joes. Rihanna seemed authentic, believable and it would be hard for anyone to watch that interview and not feel for her. »

Insiders Hope Aniston 'Has Finally Found Mr. Right'

15 August 2012 9:26 AM, PDT | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

Now that it has been confirmed that Jennifer Aniston is engaged to actor Justin Theroux, is it possible for her to finally get off the "Pitt-y" train people put her on seven years ago, when then-husband Brad Pitt left her for Angelina Jolie?

"The weekly magazines have followed every step of her relationship with Vince Vaughn, model Paul Sculfor, John Mayer, Jason Sudeikis and Bradley Cooper," celebrity journalist Marianne Garvey, who appears on Oxygen's "Girlfriend Confidential: NY," told me. "All of those relationships ended in disaster. Hopefully Jen has finally found Mr. Right, but until she finally says 'I do,' it's going to be a hard train to get off."

Jennifer has said that the biggest misconception about her is that she's unhappy, which she insists is not the case. Hopefully fans will now believe her.

"Look, she got dumped by one of the most beautiful people in the »

Could Ryan Lochte Be The Next 'Bachelor'?

9 August 2012 10:01 AM, PDT | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

Olympic gold medalist Ryan Lochte already has endorsement deals with the likes of Speedo, Gatorade, Ralph Lauren and Gillette, and now his sports agent, Erika Wright, says that Ryan has multiple TV offers on the table, including two different reality shows.

Lochte has already made it clear that he would be open to appearing on "Dancing With the Stars" and plans to move to Los Angeles after the Olympics to pursue a career outside the pool.

"Ryan would make the perfect next 'Bachelor'," Amy Rosenblum, who runs media training company Media Masters, told me. "He has the 'it' factor. Especially after his mother's one-night-stand comment, everyone wants to know who is the real Ryan and what would it be like to date him. Forget dancing shows -- this guy should be doing dating shows, for sure."

Former "Bachelorette" winner Roberto Martinez turned down ABC's offer to be the next "Bachelor »

Is A Caroline Manzo Talk Show In The Works?

30 July 2012 2:31 PM, PDT | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

Watch out, Bethenny Frankel! Another "Real Housewives" cast member may be given her own talk show. Caroline Manzo, from "The Real Housewives of New Jersey," one of the most popular series in the Bravo franchise, has often been mentioned in development meetings, following the initial test run of Frankel’s show.

"There are a lot of sheep in the TV business. Once a formula is successful, everyone wants to copy it," one TV insider tells me. "Caroline's name has come up several times and although it's still in the very early stages, I wouldn't be at all surprised if she gets her own chat show."

A few months ago, Caroline co-hosted her first daytime show, joining Jane Hanson and Sara Gore on "New York Live," where she proved to everyone that she had what it took.

"Caroline Manzo is appealing for daytime talk because she has the 'it' factor, »

'Are You Normal, America?' Host Talks Oprah

6 June 2012 10:51 AM, PDT | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

When Barry Poznick worked as an assistant on Sally Jessy Raphael's show 20 years ago, he was told he had what it takes to be on TV. But he felt more comfortable behind the scenes until he met Oprah, who gave him his own show, "Are You Normal, America?"

"I was Amy Rosenblum's production assistant at the Sally show," Poznick tells me. "She knew how to make TV like nobody's business. I learned so much from her, and she kept saying, 'You should be on TV,' and I was like, 'No, I like being behind the scenes.'

"Cut to 20-something years later. There's this woman named Oprah and we did the run-through of this game show, and whenever we sell a game show, we push the conference room table out of the way and we act it out. So we did that for Oprah. Oprah was like, »
