In February 2010, Covey was hired as a professor and first incumbent of the Jon M. Huntsman Presidential Chair in Leadership at the Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University.
He was awarded 10 honorary doctorates.
Covey was a brother of Pi Kappa Alpha International Fraternity.
Covey earned a B.S. in business administration from the University of Utah, an MBA from Harvard University, and a Doctor of Religious Education (DRE) from Brigham Young University.
"The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People," has sold over 25 million copies worldwide.
He is also the founder of Franklin Covey, a professional services company.
In 2011, Covey was ranked 47th in the Thinkers50 list of world's Top 50 business thinkers.
