Gotham: Season Two Ratings

22 September 2015 1:20 PM, PDT | TVSeriesFinale.com | See recent TVSeriesFinale news »

When Gotham debuted, it looked like a solid ratings hit for Fox. Unfortunately, the ratings declined and dropped about 50% by the end of the season. Will they continue to fall in season two? Will the series be cancelled or renewed for a third season? Stay tuned.

A dark crime drama, Gotham tells the early stories of police detective James Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and iconic Gotham City characters -- before they became legendary crimefighters, villains. and vigilantes. The rest of the cast includes Donal Logue, Morena Baccarin, Michael Chiklis, Sean Pertwee, Robin Lord Taylor, Erin Richards, David Mazouz, Camren Bicondova, Zabryna Guevara, Cory Michael Smith, Victoria Cartagena, Andrew Stewart Jones, and John Doman.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show's likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart »

Review: Gotham: The Complete First Season

10 September 2015 1:36 PM, PDT | Comicmix.com | See recent Comicmix news »

Gotham arrived amidst a ton of hoopla and promised to be a fresh look at the intervening years between the deaths of Martha and Thomas Wayne and their son Bruce’s debut as Batman. Rich, fertile territory to explore, ripe for drama. What we were offered instead, was a hodge-podge of warmed over cop retreads and overstuffed with criminals who have no business operating in Gotham during this period. You can see this for yourself on the just-released Gotham: The Complete First Season from Warner Bros Home Entertainment.

It became fairly quickly after the promising pilot episode that the series was going to pay no attention whatsoever to the canonical material published by DC Comics. At best, they borrowed names and places and affixed them to characters they wanted to use, ignoring what made them work for the last 75 years.

Gotham is a dark, depressing place, rife with corruption, »

'Gotham' Season 2 Clip Visits the Joker Inside Arkham Asylum

31 August 2015 6:37 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

With the Season 2 premiere of Gotham rapidly approaching, Fox has released the first clip giving us a peek look inside Arkham Asylum. It features the first meeting between Jerome Valeksa, a.k.a. The Joker (Cameron Monaghan) and Barbara Kean (Erin Richards). While Jerome thinks he's bonding with Barbara, since they both landed in Arkham for killing their parents, Barbara is not the least bit interested in anything this "ginger" may have to say. Barbara shows Jerome that she's perfectly capable of taking care of herself, and making her own friends.

At the end of Gotham Season 1, Barbara killed her parents, while she was with a notorious serial killer known as The Ogre (Milo Ventimiglia). Now she resides in Arkham Aslyum, home to the criminally insane, but after showing off her powers of persuasion, it remains to be seen how long she'll be trapped in this prison. We have already »

Ausiello: They’ll certainly get close to tying the knot. The CBS smash is currently looking for a male actor in his 50s to play a minister in the Season 9 premiere, which confirms that P&L are still in full-tilt Vegas elopement mode when the action picks up. Kevin Smith Would Direct DC Movie About The Question

2 June 2015 1:53 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Now, Kevin Smith is hardly the first director to come to mind when you think about the budding Marvel and DC Cinematic Universes, but the Tusk helmer is an avid comic-book fan, and if he had his way (which Smith openly admits is a very big ‘if’), the director already knows exactly which superhero he’d want to make a movie about: DC Comics’ vigilante The Question.

Who? That was my response too. The comic-book character (real name: Vic Sage) originated way back in 1967. In the mythology, Sage was a prominent investigative journalist who, unable to stop a crooked scientist without exposing his true identity, donned a mask made from an artificial skin-like substance called Pseudoderm. The substance, when coupled with a binary gas, essentially erased his features, leaving Sage with the horrifying appearance of a faceless man.

Crazy, operatic 'Gotham' finale spurs optimism for Season 2

4 May 2015 6:41 PM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

What if "Gotham" was not the TV series that so many of us thought we needed back in the fall, but what if Bruno Heller's twisty comic book drama has become the TV series we deserve now? Look, if you're going to get hung up on Batman mythology, I'm powerless to tell you that "Gotham" became or ever will become a show that will make you happy.  It's a prequel that almost cannot possibly ever line up with the version of the Caped Crusader that we know from either DC Comics, from the Christopher Nolan films or the early Tim Burton films. And that's frustrating. I can't tell you that it isn't.  The Penguin is rising! The Riddler is cracking! Somebody who may or may not be The Joker is becoming dangerously unhinged! Even Harvey Dent looks to be a couple bum coin flips away from dementia.  And Bruce »
