Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water... Who needs water when a prehistoric species of sand-swimming sharks begins prowling the beach? Sand Sharks is poised to be the schlockbuster of the summer.
Corin Nemec (Mansquito) and Brooke Hogan (2-Headed Shark Attack) star in Mark Atkins’ horror comedy Sand Sharks, a movie that has “Syfy original movie” written all over it yet looks to be bypassing that channel altogether. Not sure why. Might have something to do with the movie being more comedy than horror; Syfy movie execs, by all accounts, have a weird thing about how their movies should never be intentionally funny.
Synopsis:
Jimmy Green, a prodigal party boy, is throwing the spring break festival of a lifetime on the island of White Sands. Little do the hundreds of teenage party-goers know, an underwater earthquake has cracked open a crater beneath the ocean’s surface. »

The seemingly endless wait for the Syfy summer schedule is finally over! There is good news and bad, and one thing that is both good and bad. Let’s start with that: the Eureka Season Finale. We love Eureka, so every episode is good news; the fact that it’s a series finale, not so much. Mark your calendars – and have plenty of Kleenex in stock – for July 16 at 9/8c. Right after Comic-Con, which is early this year. We’ll see if that means a panel or not.
The good news: Warehouse 13 and Alphas return on July 23. The hmmm news is that Lost Girl will move to Fridays at 10 on July 20. Hey That’S Haven’S Spot. So Where The Heck Is Haven? Admittedly we had a head’s up that Haven would be pushed to fall when we learned that the DVDs for Season 2 weren’t being released until September but Argh. »

It remains a mystery for the ages whether the service known as Dial-a-Star can contribute its sudden, overnight success to mild curiosity or genuine interest, but the site, which connects fans to "celebrities" such as Dina Lohan, Michael Lohan and Kate Major is raking in some major dough and looking to expand its repertoire to include the likes of superstar Justin Bieber.
Listen: Justin Bieber's 'Boyfriend'
The brainchild of Gina Rodriguez, Dial-a-Star offers fans with cash to burn the opportunity to speak with the likes of Rachel Uchitel (of Tiger Wood-mistress fame) for $16/minute, Mother of the Year Dina Lohan for $25 / minute and former Jersey Shore castmate Angelina for a cool$15/minute.
According to Rodriguez, stars get to name their rate per minute and pocket exactly 50% of their earnings with Danielle Staub leading the pack as "most popular" with $7000 in calls in just six days.

You don’t pick a title like 2-Headed Shark Attack off the shelf because you’re looking for award-winning writing, acting, or special effects, and especially not because you have a deep and abiding interest in marine biology. You’ll find none of that in Asylum’s aquatic gore-fest. What you will find, and what you were probably looking for, is an amusing C-Movie horror that has what every fan of Shark Week wishes truly existed: a two-headed shark. After all, how do you improve upon the natural killing prowess of a shark, a fish that is really nothing more than a mobile mouth filled with rows of razor-sharp teeth? You give him another head. Sure, you sacrifice the animal’s streamlined perfection, but you make it easier to consume a boat filled with beautiful faces of a young generation. Perhaps the main reason to watch is for the chance to see Carmen Electra, »

Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water – or at the very least assume that sharks only had one head – here comes Christopher Ray’s 2-headed Shark Attack.
If the success of Piranha 3D proved anything, it’s that audiences are keen to see beautiful people eaten alive by ridiculous fish monsters, and it’s fair to say that 2-headed Shark Attack will feature plenty of that business.
The film will be released here in the UK under Brit producer Jonathan Sothcott’s ‘Present…’ distribution label. Sothcott had the following to say about the film:
As Carmen Electra steps in as a guest judge on Britain’s Got Talent, we wanted to remind the world just why we loved her with the trailer for her killer fish epic Two Headed Shark Attack, which I’m bringing to DVD in the UK in May. With Carmen, »

You never know what you're going to get from those wacky purveyors of schlock known as The Asylum. Wait, let me qualify that. You know you're going get a "bad" movie, but you never know if it's going to be a good "bad" movie (Mega Python vs. Gatoroid) or a bad "bad" movie (Almighty Thor). It could go either way, and I suppose that's part of the thrill.
I just returned from the post office with a brand spanking new copy of 2-Headed Shark Attack (which hits DVD shelves on January 31), the latest entry in The Asylum's beloved "Nature Run Amok" horror/sci-fi series. And as I drove home, I couldn't decide what to think. Sure, it has a shark, with two heads no less, and The Asylum usually does okay with sharks »
