Joe Valenti was born in Toms River, New Jersey and resided in Brick, NJ for the first 25 years of his life. He developed a love for filmmaking at an early age and produced and directed many short films and videos while growing up. His first feature film titled "Lying Beside You" was a 16 millimeter film which was shot and edited for $17,000. Valenti produced, directed, shot, edited and composed most of the music for "Lying Beside You". The film was completed without the use of a crew. Valenti performed almost all of the positions himself. At the 2002 Wilmington Independent Film Festival, Valenti was given the Audience Award Honorable Mention for Best Independent Feature Film. The film that won first place had a budget of $1.1 million as opposed to Valenti's minuscule budget of $17,000. Valenti's next project was "Mirror to the Mob", a short film in which Valenti produced, directed, shot, edited and acted (both roles). "Mirror to the Mob" won the 2004 Silver Crystal Vision Award for Best Independent Short Film. Joe then acted in a more films like "Bono" and "Mirror to the Mob Part 2" but knew he belonged behing the camera as opposed to in front of it. After doing a few short films and working at many television stations, Valenti began work on "The Hacking Chronicles" for AT&T. It was originally intended to be one of the first hour long drama formats for the internet which had a "24" feel to it. However it proved to be too much in budget for the AT&T Internet Channel project and the series was halted after three episodes. In fall of 2007, Valenti and his company Valenti Vision Films was hired by Starline Films to direct shoot and edit the feature film "The Gentleman" starring Ricky Aiello, Randy Jones, Jon Doscher and Monica Leigh. Also in the fall of '07, Valenti signed on to direct a Batman fan film titled "The Amazing Adventures of Little Batman". The entire cast was five year olds portraying and paying homage to the 1966 Batman genre. The fan film has gained popular exposure on the web, film festivals and is scheduled to be a musueum exhibit in the coming year. Valenti's next film "The Foursome" is schedule to shoot in 2008.
