12/21/01: His fledgling career got a boost when he received a standing ovation at the Grand Ole Opry after the debut performance of his self-written song "Long Black Train". His debut album by the same title was certified gold within a year of its release.

10/5/06: Wife Jennifer Turner gave birth to son, Hampton Otis Turner, weighed 8 lb. and 12 oz.

Wrote his hit song "Long Black Train" after listening to the Hank Williams collection in the library at Belmont University. He reports that he then walked outside and had a vision of a wide open space and a black train. He went home and wrote the song that night.

His wife, Jennifer Turner (aka Jennifer Ford), is his female costar in the romantic music video for his hit single, "Your Man". Josh, who is a devout Christian, commented that it would have been "very uncomfortable" if anyone else had played the role.

10/27/07: Became a member of the historic Grand Ole Opry. He was inducted by longtime Opry cast member Vince Gill.
