First TV Spot For ‘After Earth’ Hits

Big Willie Smith is uniting with his son Jaden once again for the upcoming M. Night Shyamalan movie After Earth, which is all set to hit cinemas later this summer. It sees Smith and Smith battling aliens, stranded on an alien planet (Earth) , 1000 years after humanity departed. The film hits Us cinemas on June 7, and the UK on the same date.

The Smith duo’s last outing, The Pursuit Of Happyness was relatively fine, but this is a huge, huge movie compared to that… and its directed by one M. Night Shyamalan, who has been more hit than miss of late.

Big Willie Smith is on that remake tip again… we already know about the upcoming Karate Kid which stars his son, Jaden; this time, it’s a remake of the 1987 romantic comedy, Overboard, which starred Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn and was directed by Garry Marshall.

The 1987 movie centered on a snooty, spoiled woman (Hawn) who falls off her yacht and is taken to the hospital by a local, morally challenged carpenter (Russell). When she wakes up with amnesia, he convinces her she is his wife, thereby getting a free housekeeper for his four boys. You can probably figure out what happens next, even if you’ve never seen the original.

The remake will star Jennifer Lopez in the Goldie Hawn role. Although, the man who will star opposite Lopez, in the Kurt Russell role is unknown. Is Will going to be that guy? I’m guessing not. I think
