Jennie Garth's new memoir Deep Thoughts From a Hollywood Blonde leaves no part of her life untouched. The 41-year-old actress stopped by Good Morning America on Wednesday morning to chat about the wide-range of topics covered in her book, from her split from Peter Facinelli to her relationships with her fellow Beverly Hills, 90210 cast mates. As for the decision to pen a tell-all right now, Garth told Lara Spencer "it was something I hadn't done and I wanted to take the challenge." "You're so open and honest in the book, you talk about your split from your now ex-husband, you talk about your dad's passing," Spencer asked Garth. "Hard for you to let go, or »
Jimmy Kimmel spurred a mostly hostile reaction on Twitter to a bit that he did on ABC’s Oscar pre-show about Academy Awards viewers dishing out mean tweets about celebrities.
Many industryites called it a slam at middle America and the bedrock viewers that the Oscarcast needs most to maintain its status as a must-watch event.
In the partially pre-taped bit, Kimmel walked onto the red carpet in casual clothes and stopped to chat with pre-show host Lara Spencer, complaining about the everyday people who sit at home sending out harsh comments about celeb fashion choices. The bit was an extension of a recurring feature on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” in which celebs read nasty items about them from Twitter.
“They’re vicious,” Kimmel said with mock outrage of mean tweeters. “They should be sterilized immediately.”
Kimmel then stepped through the screen and came through the flat screen TV in the »

The recurring "Celebrities Read Mean Tweets" bit on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" is a good one. Watching stars (mostly) laugh off the harsh stuff people say about them on social media is a reliable source of comedy.
During the Academy Awards red-carpet show on ABC Sunday (March 2), however, Kimmel extended the bit by literally going through a screen and "confronting" some of those cold-hearted tweeters. It did not go over especially well.
Kimmel was promoting his post-Oscars special with Lara Spencer and said he was out to avenge her for some of the snarky comments she'd been getting. Except once he went through the proverbial looking glass, he confronted a cheap, lame stereotype of middle America -- a shabbily dressed overweight couple, the woman's fingers covered in cheese-puff dust. It was both not very funny and a little weird, as if he was enacting some lost script for The CW's "H8R. »
With prognostication at a fever pitch in the lead-up to the Academy Awards tonight, the time is right for Nate Silver to go public with his picks.
But while Espn’s resident Nostradamus did emerge to talk Oscars on ABC’s “This Week” Sunday morning (see video above), he stopped well short of saying who he thought would win the key races.
Instead of going out on a limb as he did last year while still at The New York Times with his prognostications, Silver and fellow FiveThirtyEight.com editor Walter Hickey offered ABC News’ Lara Spencer a historical look at the elements common among the winningest Oscar movies of all time.
Among the gems Silver shared: about one-fifth of all Best Picture winners have stories set in New York; about 36% of the winners feature a relationship between husband and wife, and nearly a third of them have a scene »

This morning, in the walk-up to its broadcast of the 86th Annual Academy Awards, ABC brought out Espn’s FiveThirtyEight editor-in-chiefNate Silver and its general editor Walter Hickey to share results of their controversial number crunching about Best Picture Oscar winners through the ages on the network’s Sunday Beltway show This Week. Here are their six big takeaways: 1. It’s All About Adaptation Silver and Hickey calculated that nearly 40% of best picture nominees originate from books, while about 18% originate from plays. 2. Oscar Hearts NYC The Big Apple is an Oscars favorite, with about 20% of nominees taking place there. Next in popularity are London and Paris, while Washington D.C. and Los Angeles just barely make the top five. 3. 1930s or Bust The 1930s turned out to be the most common decade to have a film set. “Since 1939, about one in seven best picture nominees have involved World War II in some way, »

Forget seahawks and broncos; the only animals that truly matter on Super Bowl Sunday are puppies!
Can you believe it’s been 10 years since the first Puppy Bowl debuted on Animal Planet? Hypothetically, this year’s players would have to use both of their front paws to count that high! Sadly, they can’t count — and come to think of it, they can’t really grasp the concept of football, either. But isn’t that why we love them?
As I said, football isn’t really a thing puppies know how to do, so like most years, Puppy Bowl X is shaping up to be an adorable mess. Balls are flying in every direction, puppies are tackling each other with no regard to teams and I was loving every single minute of it.

Could it be any clearer that Sam Champion loves what he does??
It could be a pun to say that Sam Champion is taking the world by storm since, well, weather and storms of all kinds – currently snow storms in much of the U.S. – have been his business for the past three decades. But there’s some truth to that pun based on the out weather anchor’s big move from Good Morning America to The Weather Channel.
In his new role as Managing Editor, Champion will be steering The Weather Channel ship as it continues to be the place to go to for any weather information on national and local levels. He’ll also be anchoring the network’s new multi-hour morning show (revealed this morning via Twitter by Champion as Amhq) that will launch this Spring on the network.

If this doesn’t make you want a Dannon Oikos yogurt, we’re not sure what will! During a ‘Full House’ reunion, John Stamos unzipped his pants to reveal the sexiest way to advertise ever — showing off his boxers!
John Stamos, Dave Couiler and Bob Saget — you may know them as Uncle Jesse, Joey Gladstone and Danny Tanner — promoted their new Super Bowl commercial on Good Morning America on Jan. 29, and when they commit, they really go all the way! Have mercy!
During Good Morning America, John wanted to show off that he’ll do anything to represent a brand — he claimed he was wearing white boxers with little pictures of Dannon Oikos yogurt on it! However, he didn’t just claim it, he actually stood up to prove it.

The 10th annual Puppy Bowl may not take place until Sunday (Feb. 2), but you don't have to wait until then to get your fix of the adorable pups in action.
While the anchors seem more into the actual game than the puppies themselves, the sight of the little cuties running around, confused, is just too precious.
Check out the adorable video above. »
Get the skinny on this year’s puppy-to-watch!
Some of the key players in Animal Planet’s upcoming Puppy Bowl — the 10th annual event, by the way — stopped by Good Morning America on Jan. 27 to show off their skills. And even though anchor Lara Spencer did most of the work, seeing as puppies have no idea what football even is, that didn’t stop the pups’ appearance from being surprisingly informative.
‘Puppy Bowl’ Preview: Meet Daiquiri
Lara announced that Daiquiri, which is most definitely not an appropriate name for a dog that’s way too young to drink, is anticipated to be this year’s McP. In case you don’t know how the Puppy Bowl works, that stands for Most Cuddlable Puppy, which is totally a thing.

Other than his prospects on the field, we know very little about Daiquiri right now, as puppies are famously secretive. »
