3 November 2009 1:13 PM, PST | Bollyspice | See recent Bollyspice news »

Chitrangada Singh recently confirmed that she and Mahima Choudhary were second cousins - but they have never met! “Their maternal grandfathers were brothers,” explained a source, “Their mothers grew up together and even shared a lot in common. Strangely, Mahima and Chitrangada are not very close to each other.”

Chitrangada, who recently completed a cover shoot for hair magazine Estatica, confirmed the situation. “I have never spoken to Mahima in my life,” she said, “I haven’t even seen her. We never got to spend any summer vacations together.” Chitrangada is currently looking for a residence in Mumbai and has three movies lined up - 2 Days, 2 Nights and A Morning; Homecoming and Dhruv.

Mahima, meanwhile, has taken a time out for marriage and motherhood but is currently reviewing a number of scripts before re-entering the profession. She is determined, however, that whatever project she undertakes, she will not be separated from her new daughter. »

Farhan Akhtar, Kareena Kapoor in Bollywood's 'Hamlet' remake

4 May 2009 2:45 PM, PDT | India.com | See recent India.com news »

Director Sudhir Mishra is adapting Shakespeare’s ‘Hamlet’ in Indian context for his next political drama with Farhan Akhtar in lead.

Farhan will play a young man who is forced to join politics and later becomes an influential political leader like the way Hamlet did when his father was killed. The movie is named ‘Dhruv’ and stars Kareena Kapoor and Chitrangada Singh in lead.

It is believed that Dhruv is a modified version of Sudhir’s previously announced film ‘Aur Devdas’, which gave a political twist to the story of ‘Devdas’ and had cast Shiney Ahuja , Lara Dutta and Chitrangada Singh. But the director shelved the movie after the release of Dev D. Later, Sudhir convinced Farhan and not only did the latter agree to produce the film but was also keen to be the part of cast.

This time too, Sudhir is trying his hands on political drama but with a ‘Hamlet’ twist. »
