Attack On Titan Is Everywhere, and It’s Awesome

It’s a good time to be an Attack On Titan fan.

Hajime Isayama‘s manga/anime series, called  進撃の巨人 (Shingeki no Kyoujin, “Advancing Giants”) in Japan, is infiltrating Western popular culture in a way that hasn’t really been accomplished since Cowboy Bebop or Neon Genesis Evangelion. The 25-episode anime aired on Adult Swim, every new volume of the comic series sells in the millions of copies, and the English-language branch of Kodansha publishing can barely put out enough spinoffs to meet demand (so far we’ve gotten Attack On Titan: Before The Fall, Attack On Titan: No Regrets, and Attack On Titan: Junior High). The Colossal Titan (pictured above) has become as iconic as any supervillain and inspired its share of merchandise and visual tributes. And oh, yeah—a live action movie is happening.

New Artwork Teased for Attack On Titan and Avengers Crossover

14 November 2014 8:04 AM, PST | GeekTyrant | See recent GeekTyrant news »

A bit of new artwork has surfaced for the upcoming Attack on Titan and Avengers comic crossover. The art is being done by Marvel Comics artist Gerardo Sandoval. The art you see here comes from Brutus Magazine, and it’s a comic panel that features Spider-Man violently hitting a female 46-foot tall Titan as Hawkeye, Black Widow, and Captain America look on. The story features the team of heroes battling a Titan that has invaded New York City.

The Marvel’s Attack On Titan issue of Brutus will hit stores in Japan on November 15th. Marvel's C.B. Cebulski revealed the following on Twitter:

"Attack on Titan/Marvel story in @BRUTUS_mag: 1.) it is plotted by Hajime Isayama himself & 2.) it will run in Japanese & English there."

I do love that Attack on Titan creator Hajime Isayama is the one who plotted the story for this. I can't wait to read it! »

Attack On Titan and Marvel Crossover Will Feature The Avengers

7 November 2014 7:48 AM, PST | GeekTyrant | See recent GeekTyrant news »

Some new details have surfaced regarding that Attack on Titan and Marvel Comics crossover that was announced by Marvel Comics talent scout C.B. Cebulski a couple of days ago. A piece of concept art showed Spider-Man swinging away from a couple of Titans chasing after him. It looks like Spider-Man won't be the only one involved, though. The upcoming comic will also feature the Avengers team!

According to Japanese pop culture magazine Brutus, issue #790 will include a "what if" comic that will feature the Avengers battling a giant female Titan in the streets of New York City. Could we see Tony Stark develop some kind of giant Titan fighting armor for this battle? Because that would be badass!

Unfortunately, as of right now, there are no plans to release the comic crossover in the Us. It's a Japanese exclusive, but I wouldn't worry. I'm sure it will find its way onto the internet. »
