Tron: Legacy sequel moves forward with Joseph Kosinski directing

6 December 2012 2:27 AM, PST | Upcoming-Movies.com | See recent Upcoming-Movies.com news »

Disney's moving forward with a Tron: Legacy sequel and has Jesse Wigutow in talks to script the film which sees the return of helmer Joseph Kosinski. The first film which featured Tron star Jeff Bridges, alongside Garrett Hedlund, Olivia Wilde, Martin Sheen, Beau Garrett and Bruce Boxleitner, opened December 17th, 2010 with a mediocre $44 million, before ending off with $177 million domestically. Overseas, the sci-fi pic made $228 million, making its worldwide cume over $400 million from a $170 million production budget. A sequel would work well, and very likely topple the first film's N. American total. Of course, there are no plot details as yet on the upcoming Tron: Legacy sequel which had an earlier draft from David Digilio. »

The Third Tron Film Moves Forward With a New Writer

5 December 2012 | Comingsoon.net | See recent Comingsoon.net news »

Screenwriter Jesse Wigutow has signed on to rewrite the next, still-untitled Tron sequel . The Hollywood Reporter says that he'll rewrite the current draft by David Digilio, Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz and the studio appears to have renewed interest in bringing about the sequel sooner rather than later. 2010's Tron: Legacy starred Jeff Bridges, Garrett Hedlund, Olivia Wilde, Bruce Boxleitner, James Frain, Beau Garrett and Michael Sheen and was, itself, a sequel to Walt Disney Pictures' 1982 sci-fi adventure. Although a specific plot has not yet been revealed, the next chapter was said earlier this year to involve an exploration of life and death in the digital realm. Legacy director Joseph Kosinski is attached to return for the new film and it could become his next »

Freelancers Blu-ray Review

25 August 2012 7:23 PM, PDT | Cinelinx | See recent Cinelinx news »

The Movie Pool goes rogue for the Freelancers Blu-ray!

The Set-up

A rookie NYC cop (Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson) finds that his training officer is part of a band of crooked cops, whose leader (Robert DeNiro) protects the city's organized crime. Also stars Forest Whitaker and Dana Delaney.

Directed by: Jessy Terrero

The Delivery

Freelancers is a convoluted cop film that tries to be Training Day, but gets dragged down by multiple pointless character arcs and a mumbling performance from rapper turned actor Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson. That's really too bad, because despite Jackson's lack of acting skills and a cliche-ridden script, there's actually a decent cop movie here.

Mind you, this isn't Heat or Copland or anything close to that, but Freelancers is watchable when it isn't tripping itself up. Terrero seems like a competent director, and the films certainly looks good, but the script by L. Philippe Casseus tries way »

Members of the Whedonverse tend to become close friends, working together time and time again. That was certainly the case in the secret Shakespearean adaptation Much Ado About Nothing, shot in Joss Whedon's backyard last summer, and it's once again the case in Lust for Love, a rom-com that stars many of the stars of his Fox drama Dollhouse. The film features Fran Kranz -- seen most recently in Cabin in the Woods and on Broadway in Death of a Salesman -- as an unlucky in love guy who finally wins over the love of his life, played by Beau Garrett.

Tron: Legacy Screenwriters Talk Tron 3 (Spoilers)

19 March 2012 12:00 PM, PDT | GeekTyrant | See recent GeekTyrant news »

In December 2010, Walt Disney Pictures released a sequel to their 28-year-old Tron entitled Tron: Legacy. The film starred Jeff Bridges and Bruce Boxleitner, reprising their roles as Kevin Flynn and Alan Bradley/Tron, respectively, and featured Garrett Hedlund, Olivia Wilde, Beau Garrett and Michael Sheen. Although it made $400 million worldwide, the film didn't quite get the game-changing reaction Disney wanted. Undeterred, Disney started work on an animated series, Tron: Uprising, featuring the voices of Elijah Wood, Lance Henrikson, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Mandy Moore, Paul Reubens, Nate Corddry, Reginald VelJohnson, and Boxleitner. However, a sequel to Tron: Legacy has been quietly in the works for some time now, and the screenwriters of Legacy (now showrunners of Once Upon a Time), Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, have spoken about a third Tron film.

Though they are not writing the film due to their obligations to Once Upon a Time, Kitsis and Horowitz will »

Flack (Eddie Cahill) calls it "most parents' worst nightmare: someone spills their drink on a new carpet." Continuing, "Welcome to the end of the world as we know it." Wow Flack actually got the end line before the opening credits. Sid (Robert Joy) actually gets out of the autopsy lab to personally attend the Db at the scene. She was asphyxiated. Jo (Sela ward) estimates there were than fifty on the balcony, plus the marble table. Danny (Carmine Giovinazzo) collects prints from the table. Back at the lab, Hawkes (Hill Harper) and Lindsay (Anna Belknap) calculate the stress analysis (could have just put her on the contraption.) Hawkes calculates without the use of a calculator, but Lindsay insists on using a calculator anyway, as if he'd be wrong. The balcony »
