Hong Kong is a spectacular place, I used to keep an office there in a previous life. It's so alive and full of energy, not to mention a certain Dutch boy if memory serves. But one thing it doesn't have is land. So engineers are exploring the idea of hiding the "ugly things" like sewage treatment, parking and fuel storage deep underground, freeing up greenspace and room for living. »

On the Hart of Dixie, Wilson Bethel is frequently called upon to remove his shirt, and he's fine with that. "We live in the modern world. And I'm not above recognizing what purpose six separate abdominal muscles serve to the collective consciousness."
Vanity Fair's Brett Berk took in the concepts at the Detroit Auto Show and managed to compare trends in design that worked, with some ideas that maybe didn't. And while yes, I totally prefer the Camaro Zl-1, I think he was mean to the cute little Mini Roadster.
Despite believing myself to be a sharp critic of media who can spot negative portrayals of subgroups I don't belong to, I never considered the leprosy joke in The Pirates! Band of Misfits to be out of line, not realizing leprosy was a current problem. But after some education, the producers are editing both the movie and the trailer to remove the joke. »

Indie sci-fi is always exciting to hear about, no matter how the eventual project turns out — be it a Moon or, God forbid, Another Earth. The latest line in this recent movement, is Life Tracker, which Variety says will be led by Kyle Xy‘s Matt Dallas, Saw 3D‘s Rebecca Marshall and How to Make a David Lynch Film‘s Barry Finnegan.
This project marks director Joe McClean‘s feature-length debut. He got his start with the six-minute short Coffee Connection back in 2008, and most recently directed the aforementioned How to Make a David Lynch Film — something we’d all like to know, I’m sure. The director has also written the script, with Sarju Patel and Debbie Vandermeulen are producing; NBA player-turned-producer Baron Davis and Marshall will executive produce.
Here’s a plot summary (via IMDb):

Matthew Mitcham, the oldest unicorn in the forest.
Welcome to the first Celebrity Twitterwatch of 2012. We've still got some details from 2011 to wrap up, but I feel that I should warn the universe that we are not signing on to this trend of calling the new year 20-dozen. That's just dumb, and trust us, we know dumb when we see it.
As Australia rang in the New Year before most people, Matthew Mitcham couldn't even be bothered to stay up for the event at his advanced age of 23 years. That's what happens when you find the love of your life at such a young age and settle down. That's why Twitterwatch stays single - it keeps us young. That and people are afraid we'll publish their love-tweets to us.
It's 2012 and it's official. I'm a grandpa. In bed before 12, up before 8 and I didn't even have a drink. Time for my high-bran muesli. »
