Kostbar was the writer/producer of the film, The Hammer, "A hidden gem" by the Los Angeles Times; based on the life of Deaf UFC fighter, Matt Hamill. The film premiered at AFI Fest and won The Breakthrough Audience Award and was released theatrically and DVD/VOD.

He later produced The Aggression Scale, which premiered at the South by Southwest Film Festival and was released by Anchor Bay.

Kostbar went on to produce Free Samples, with notable cast, Jesse Eisenberg, Jason Ritter and Tippi Hedren, as well as, cinematographer, Reed Marano. The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and was released by Starz.

He followed up with the international production, The Thompsons, a sequel to cult classic, The Hamiltons. The film was directed by The Butcher Brothers and was released by Lionsgate.

Kostbar's most recent films are Fight Church, directed by Academy/Emmy Award Winner, Daniel Junge and Bryan Storkel which was released by Netflix/Lionsgate, HBO/Funny or Die's Ferrell Takes the Field and HBO/Film 45's The Promoter.

In addition to his film pursuits, Kostbar has produced or line produced many other features, televisions shows, web series such as the Youtube Red series Single by 30, Verizon Go90 series Algorhythm, Fullscreen series Rooster Teeth-Entertainment System, Freeform series My Boyfriend is a Robot, as well as, many others.

He has also produced several commercials, branded videos and music videos for companies such as HBO, Comedy Central, Hulu, Funny or Die, Film 45, YouTube, Verizon Go90, Fullscreen, Big Breakfast/College Humor, New Form Digital, Defy Media, Warner Bros Records, Epic, XIX Entertainment, Snowfort Pictures, Dark Sky Pictures and various others.
