The cast for "Sense8," the upcoming sci-fi series from Andy and Lana Wachowski, has been revealed. For genre geeks, it's a doozy. Daryl Hannah, Naveen Andrews ("Lost"), Freema Agyeman ("Doctor Who") and Brian J. Smith ("Stargate Universe") are among the 14 new cast members. Brit actors Tuppence Middleton (star of Wachowskis' troubled "Jupiter Ascending") and Aml Ameen ("Harry's Law") are on board, as well as an international cast of fresh faces including Tena Desae, Doona Bae, Max Riemelt, Alfonso Herrera and Erendira Ibarra. "Sense8" revolves around eight people from around the world who find themselves, suddenly, inextricably, telepathically linked. With J. Plot and Cast Revealed for the Wachowskis' Netflix Series SENSE8

Last year it was announced that the The Wachowskis (The Matrix, Speed Racer, Cloud Atlas) and J. Michael Straczynski (Babylon 5, Thor, Underworld Awakening) would be teaming up with Netflix to develop a new series called Sense8. Up to this point all that we've know about the show is that it was developed from a conversation about "the ways technology simultaneously unites and divides us." It's also been described as "a gripping tale of minds linked and souls hunted.”

Thanks to Deadline, we now have a lot more information on the ten episode series, including the large cast and details on the plot. 

Naveen Andrews (Lost), Daryl Hannah (Kill Bill), and Brian J. Smith (Stargate Universe) are among a 14-member international cast. As for the story, the following information comes from  Straczynski, who is the showrunner:

14 actors have been revealed as members of the international cast of Sense8, the upcoming 10-episode Netflix sci-fi series from the Wachowskis (The Matrix) and J. Michael Straczynski (Thor).

The series stars Naveen Andrews (Lost), Daryl Hannah (Blade Runner) and Brian J. Smith (Stargate Universe), and they will be joined by Tuppence Middleton (Jupiter’s Ascending), Aml Ameen (The Maze Runner), and Freema Agyeman (Doctor Who).

Indian actress Tena Desae, South Korean actress Doona Bae, German actor Max Riemelt, Mexican actors Alfonso Herrera and Erendira Ibarra as well as Jamie Clayton, Miguel Silvestre and Terrence Mann round out the globe spanning cast of actors.

Sense8 is set to debut sometime next year, and Straczynski (who is a well-known comic book writer responsible for critically acclaimed runs on titles like The Amazing Spider-Man) has revealed the first detailed synopsis in a recent interview with Deadline about the series.
