Lifetime Television had their viewers vote on their favorite movies from 2008, and they are replaying the top 8 movies tomorrow.
After one of Lifetime's strongest movie premieres in years, it's no surprise that Jenna Dewan's drama "Fab Five: The Texas Cheerleader Scandal" ranks at #3 on their Top Movies of 2008 list, so fans will now get another opportunity to see the film.
The real-life story, which also stars Tatum O'Neal ("Rescue Me", "Wicked Wicked Games", 'Paper Moon') and Ashley Benson ("Days of Our Lives", 'Bring It On: In It to Win It'), is about a group of mean girl cheerleaders nicknamed the "Fab Five". The girls ran their Texas high school and lived to break the rules until a new coach named Emma Carr (played by Jenna Dewan) tried to turn them around.

If ever a scandalous situation was born to live again in a Lifetime movie, it was the one that occurred last year in McKinney, Tex., after a bunch of nasty, spoiled cheerleaders who ran their school like the SS (spoiled sexpots) caused so much terror that it became a national story.
How much do I love the idea of cheerleaders gone bad, who beat up other cheerleaders? Who knew there even was such a thing as marauding, run-amok, scary cheerleaders to begin with? It's all so - what? - so Texan of them.

It may seem ironic that the recently busted Tatum O'Neal plays an icon of authority . a high school principal in Lifetime's "Fab Five," a fact-based drama about cheerleaders, Texas-style. It's a combination of "Mean Girls" and "Bring It On."
But the Academy Award-winning actress, recently arrested for buying crack cocaine in Manhattan, has something in common with the character she plays: neither seem to understand boundaries.

Lifetime has greenlighted the original movie Fab Five: The Texas Cheerleader Scandal, based on a true story about five out-of-control teenage girls. Tatum O'Neal, Jenna Dewan and Ashley Benson have signed on to star.
In the movie from Orly Adelson Prods. and Fox Television Studios, Benson plays Brooke Tippit, captain of the cheerleading squad and daughter of principal Lorene Tippit (O'Neal), whose groups of friends -- known as the Fab Five -- constantly disobey school rules and disregard teachers while administrators turn the other way.
When young teacher Emma Carr (Dewan) joins the faculty as the new cheerleading coach, she tries to discipline them, only to be asked to resign. Then she decides to take the story to the local and national media.
The real version of the events took place at a high school in the Dallas suburb of McKinney; the story broke in late 2006.
"The real-life story of these cheerleaders shocked many when the story broke, not only for their racy and inappropriate behavior but also for the inaction of the school's administrators and parents," Lifetime senior vp original movies Tanya Lopez said. »
