Many, many people seated in Ballroom 20 at 11:15 on Friday were simply waiting for the Firefly 10-year reunion panel that was to follow. But they are missing out. Avatar: The Last Airbender is America’s entry into the world’s greatest animes, and the sequel series The Legend of Korra proved to be a fine follow-up that may sit right next to Airbender on the submission list. Make no mistake, though: the Korra fans also came out in droves, and I saw dozens of great-looking Korras in the audience. The panel featured creators Bryan Konietzko and Mike Dimartino; voice actors Janet Varney (Korra), David Faustino (Mako), P. J. Byrne (Bolin) and Seychelle Gabriel (Asami); producer Joaquim Dos Santos and voice director Andrea Romano. Hit the jump for a panel recap, including a tease of Book 2: Spirits. . The panel started off with a highlight reel from season 1, and it must be said, »

The Comic-Con 2012 schedule has now been released in full, and barring any major updates, is set. The blessing and curse of being an attendee is deciding which panels/autograph sessions/special events to attend, when they conflict. And they always do.
For you to see for yourself, below are what we are calling the “headliner” panels; those panels that are taking place in Hall H, Ballroom 20, Room 6Bdf, and the just-next-door Hilton Indigo Ballroom, the four major venues for panels. There are descriptions of each panel as well as the show(s) and/or movie(s) they are there to discuss.
See how many conflicts you might have, or how you might arrange time and space to somehow attend these plus spend every day in the vendors’ Exhibit Hall and chasing zombies in the nearby The Walking Dead Escape. By the way, if you figure that out, Please let us know. »

Ken Marino (Childrens Hospital) is starring in Yahoo's latest original: mock-reality series Burning Love, which is slated to premiere on the Yahoo! Comedy Channel June 4th. One part The Bachelor, one part Horrible People, Burning Love follows hunky fireman Mark Orlando (Marino) in his search for the perfect partner in a faux elimination-style reality show. Teeming with irony, Burning Love features all the accoutrements you'd expect from a network reality series: from champagne toasts, candles, heartbreak, bubble baths, chocolate, choreography, hair extensions, roller skating, betrayal, and spray-tans. "Mark Orlando is used to feeling the heat of fire," says the narrator in the series trailer. "But now he's looking for someone to ignite the flames of love." The trailer features Ben Stiller, the series' executive producer along with fellow Red Hour producers Stuart Cornfeld and Mike Rosenstein, as well as Abominable Pictures’ Jonathan Stern, Marino, and Erica Oyama. The seemingly endless wait for the Syfy summer schedule is finally over! There is good news and bad, and one thing that is both good and bad. Let’s start with that: the Eureka Season Finale. We love Eureka, so every episode is good news; the fact that it’s a series finale, not so much. Mark your calendars – and have plenty of Kleenex in stock – for July 16 at 9/8c. Right after Comic-Con, which is early this year. We’ll see if that means a panel or not.
The good news: Warehouse 13 and Alphas return on July 23. The hmmm news is that Lost Girl will move to Fridays at 10 on July 20. Hey That’S Haven’S Spot. So Where The Heck Is Haven? Admittedly we had a head’s up that Haven would be pushed to fall when we learned that the DVDs for Season 2 weren’t being released until September but Argh. »

Things are heating up on Nickelodeon's new hit animated series The Legend of Korra, as this week the love triangle between Korra (voiced by Janet Varney), Mako (David Faustino) and Bolin (P.J. Byrne) is revealed.
In "The Spirit of the Competition," which airs Saturday, Korra asks one of her mentor's children how to get the attention of Mako, who has started spending more time with a new girl. Romantic rivalries soon threaten to "shake the foundation" of the relationship between Korra, Mako and Bolin.

Avatar: The Last Airbender is one of the best TV shows ever made. Despite being essentially a children's show, The Last Airbender was almost perfect in every regaurd; the characters were likeable and well thought out, the action was amazing, the plot was intense and thoughtful, and the overall tone of the show was pitch perfect, featuring some of the finest episodes of television I've ever seen. In my opinion, Tla is the closest this generation might get to a Star Wars-esque trilogy...it's just that wonderful. So with all that in mind, I went into The Legend of Korra quite hopeful. As a sequel to the original story, things could go south pretty fast (ala The Prequel Trilogy). But I had hope in creators Michael Dante Di Martino and Bryan Konietzko (the two co-creators of Tla) to deliver something that could live up to the origanal's glory. Do »

Fans have been anxiously awaiting for a return trip to the fantastical world of element benders and mystical white creatures in The Last Airbender: Legend of Korra, a spinoff TV animated series that picks up 70 years after the events of Nickelodeon’s original hit Last Airbender show and centers around the new Avatar: a spirited young woman from the Southern Water Tribe named Korra (voiced by Janet Varney).
Nickelodeon has begun airing a new TV promo for Legend of Korra which highlights the series’ virtually identical animation style as that featured in Avatar: The Last Airbender – and offers a better look at the new incarnation of the Avatar, who looks to be much more outspoken, rebellious, and reckless than Aang.
