Sang the role of "Carmen" in the first complete stereo recording of Bizet's opera with Thomas Beecham
conducting. This recording used the sung recitatives by Guiraud rather than the original spoken dialogue that Bizet intended. De Los Angeles's Carmen has been acclaimed by some as the greatest ever.
