Saba Douglas-Hamilton was born on June 7, 1970 in Kenya. She is known for her work on Big Cat Diary (1996), The Way We Went Wild (2004) and Big Bear Week (2006). She has been married to Frank Pope since February 4, 2006. They have three children.

Father: Dr. Iain Douglas-Hamilton, Zoologist, of the Dukes of Hamilton and Brandon (b. Ferne, 16 Aug 1942). Mother: Oria Rocco. They married in 1971. Sister: Dudu Mara (b. 1971).
Saba went to school in the UK at the United World College of the Atlantic in Wales, and went on to obtain a Masters degree in Social Anthropology at St Andrews University.
She lives in Kenya and is a trustee of her father's charity, Save the Elephants.
Her name means 'seven' in the local Kiswahili language, and was given to her by local African tribesmen because she was born at 7 p.m. on a Sunday, the seventh day of the week, on the seventh day of the month, and she was also the seventh grandchild in the family.
Gave birth to twin daughters (her 2nd and 3rd children) at age 40, Moja Pope and Mbili Pope on June 2, 2011. Children's father is her husband, Frank Pope.
Gave birth to her 1st child at age 38, a daughter Sielke Pope in March 2009. Child's father is her husband, Frank Pope.
Currently living in Kenya, Africa.
