Manolo Blahnik Documentary in the Works

A documentary about influential shoe designer Manolo Blahnik is in production with Michael Roberts directing and Nevision Studios One Limited producing.

Content Media will launch worldwide sales at the Berlin Film Festival on the film, titled “Manolo (The Boy Who Made Shoes for Lizards).” Executive producers are James Cabourne, Tiggy Maconochie and Anne Morrison.

“Having known Manolo for over 30 years, I can say he is a multifaceted intellectual and romantic whose engaging mind and ingenious work is made for entertaining cinema,” Roberts said.

Blahnik was born in the Canary Islands and began making shoes in London in 1971. “Shoes help transform a woman,” he has said.

The Blahnik shoes were popularized during the ’90s by being frequently mentioned on “Sex and the City” as a favorite of Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw character.

Grace Coddington Steps Down as Vogue Creative Director

Grace Coddington has announced that she will step down from her position as American Vogue’s Creative Director, a title that she has held since 1988. “After more than 25 years at American Vogue, Grace Coddington will assume the role of Creative Director at Large and take on additional projects outside the magazine,” a Vogue spokesperson told TheWrap. “She will work on several Vogue fashion shoots throughout the year.” She will remain on the masthead and keep an office at One World Trade Center in Manhattan.
