A native of NYC, James studied communications & broadcasting at Boston University, and New England Institute of the Arts.
After a stint in a hip-hop rap group & improv comedy, James moved to LA on a one-way ticket & a single suitcase, where he began his training in music and acting. His first ever TV audition landed him on CBS's "J.A.G.".
Other credits include "CSI", NBC's "Las Vegas", "The West Wing", "Heist", as well as ABC's "Threat Matrix", and FOX's "All About the Andersons".
James has starred in feature films such as "Star Runners", "Shutter", "How to Make love to a Woman", and "White on Rice".
James enjoys playing basketball for the Hollywood Knights, a charity celebrity team for USO, and is an active member of the Global Green eco campaign & the Creative Coalition. He also loves Scuba diving.
Attended Bronx H.S. of Science in New York City.
Was once a member of a Hip Hop group as an MC.
Sings & records jazz standards. Sometimes performs at random piano bars in Los Angeles.
Kyson - his middle name - comes from the 1st letters of his parents' surnames (k & y) and the word "son". Also means "Child of the Spirit".
His Korean name is Lee Jae Hyeok. (or Jae Hyuk).

[on the new Star Trek movie] They already had Zach [Quinto, who plays Sylar] to play Spock so maybe it would've been tough to have multiple actors from the same show. I loved the film and they did a great job.
