Halloween Stars to Follow a Trail of Bread Crumbs

5 May 2010 4:58 PM, PDT | DreadCentral.com | See recent Dread Central news »

Two Michael Myers veterans - one survivor and one victim - will be re-teaming for another go 'round of brutal murder and madness, albeit far, far away from Haddonfield, Illinois this time. Will they have better luck, or will neither of them see the final reel?

Marianne Hagan (Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers) and Kristina Klebe (Rob Zombie's Halloween) will topline Bread Crumbs, a vicious take on the Hansel & Gretel fairy tale that freaked me the hell out as a young lad.

Spotlight Films is behind the horror flick written and directed by Mike Nichols (a different Mike Nichols). But the premise has to be among the most twisted and inspired that's come across our desks lately:

Once upon a time ... Angie, an aging star, reluctantly goes on one last shoot for a seedy producer, on location, in an enchanting old cabin deep in the shadowy forest. While on »

Paul Solet Talks Horror Acting

12 March 2010 1:19 AM, PST | DreadCentral.com | See recent Dread Central news »

One of the things we love so much about the Internet is that it enables people to have a voice all their own. One that can be shared throughout an entire community ... especially if said community is the horror one, which out here in Cali is a lot smaller of a circle than you'd think.

Actress Kristina Klebe dropped us a note tonight to alert us about a new interview with one of our own that just appeared on the Brains of Minerva website, to which she is a contributor.

Their latest sit-down is with Grace director Paul Solet, who is the first of many directors and genre professionals that will be talking specifically about "Acting In Horror" for the site.

Dig on it below, and hit up the above linkage for more.

DVD review: Eastern European zombie action in Apocalypse of the Dead

27 February 2010 5:13 PM, PST | The Geek Files | See recent The Geek Files news »

In The ghoulish tradition of George A. Romero's Dawn of the Dead comes Serbia's first entry in the zombie genre, entitled Apocalypse of the Dead.

Released by Metrodome on DVD in the UK and Ireland on Monday, March 1, it's directed by Milan Konjevic and Milan Todorovic.

The film stars American actor Ken Foree who, notably, was in the 1979 original of Dawn of the Dead. Foree, 61, was also in Rob Zombie's 2007 remake of Halloween while his surname is referenced in the 2004 spoof Shaun of the Dead.

The actor, in his first lead role for three decades, plays Interpol agent Mortimer Reyes who, with rookie colleague Mina Milius (Kristina Klebe), is part of a group transporting a dangerous prisoner (Emilio Roso) to Belgrade. Klebe was also in the Halloween remake.

They encounter rampaging hordes of zombies in a plague of terror which has been created by a toxic leak and spread by the creatures' blood-thirsty bites. »
