Presenter on BBC Radio's flagship News programme "Today" on Radio 4
from 1970 until his retirement in 1986. He had first become a reporter
at the age of 16, and joined the BBC in 1959.
He was awarded the OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) in the 1987 Queen's Birthday Honours List for his services to radio broadcasting. He was BBC Radio news anchor.
