Hallmark holiday films have evolved over the years. They used to be romantic and almost cheesy, whereas now, these films go deeper and explore not only romantic relationships but genuine friendships and family ties.
A Season for Family is part of the Hmm Miracles of Christmas programming event, and it's so fitting because Hallmark is known for granting Christmas miracles.
This cast is stuffed with Hallmark familiar faces, most notably Brendan Penny and Jessica Sipos from Chesapeake Shores.
It was interesting to see Penny and Sipos play siblings after they had been love interests for so many years on Chesapeake Shores.
Stacey Farber and Edward Ruttle also mixed things up. They've played exes and potential love interests on The Spencer Sisters, so it was fun to see them interact differently.
Farber plays Maddy, a single mom who runs a hotel in San Diego, even though her father owns a resort business in Park City,...

Hallmark has revealed that it will have 40 all-new, original movies for both its flagship channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, as well as special content for Hallmark Movies Now, the company’s subscription streaming service.
Even though the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes impacted TV and film productions, Hallmark anticipated the labor dispute by getting a head start on production in Canada. “Christmas is a year-round business at Hallmark, so we were able to mitigate early in the year understanding that the strikes were unfortunately imminent,” Lisa Hamilton Daly, EVP of programming at Hallmark Media, was recently quoted as saying. “We’re grateful to meet all our goals for a full, all-new holiday slate and to bring our viewers the content they love most to celebrate the season.”

Erin Krakow is a real-life Hallmark princess who has been integral to bringing romance and drama to the network with When Calls the Heart and many movies fans adore.
Tonight, she stars in The Wedding Cottage about a woman who makes a promise about a wedding venue without realizing it was no longer available and her efforts to convince its owner (Brendan Penny) that reopening the venue would be in everyone's best interests, including his own.
Gracious as always, Erin spoke with TV Fanatic about The Wedding Cottage and what's ahead for When Calls the Heart Season 10 (and 11!).
Erin loves working with Hallmark and what she's been able to create with the creatives at the network, so staying with them even when her successful series is not in production makes all the sense in the world.

While planning a wedding for another couple, Erin Krakow‘s character in her latest Hallmark movie may very well find love herself. In The Wedding Cottage, Krakow stars as Vanessa, who holds a contest offering a couple an all-expense paid ceremony to launch her new book, Tying the Knot — A Wedding Guide. The winners (Drew Henderson and Matreya Scarrwener) choose The Wedding Cottage, but there’s one problem: It’s been closed for years, and Evan (Brendan Penny), who inherited it from his grandmother, doesn’t intend to reopen. Vanessa, determined to restore the cottage, charms Evan, and along the way … they just might find out how much the cottage means to them. Krakow previews her film, premiering April 15. What drew you to this story and the character of Vanessa? Because you’ve done quite a few of these Hallmark movies. Erin Krakow: It was not a hard decision for me.

If you're already adrift without another Hallmark Original Series to watch, you're not alone.
But we have good news today as Crown Media announced new original programming and some renewals we've been waiting for.
Most importantly, there are two renewals to announce that join When Calls the Heart for (fingers crossed) a 2021 release.
Good Witch will return for a seventh season, and Chesapeake Shores will return for a fifth season!
Hurrah!
As you know, Good Witch Season 6 just ended on quite the cliffhanger.
It was the first season in which Bailee Madison didn't appear as Grace, and in Rhys Matthew Bond only made guest appearances as Nick.
Without the younger cast, the adults got a lot more storylines, and love flourished.
Cassie (Catherine Bell) and Sam (James Denton) celebrated their one-year anniversary and began to grow under each other's influence.
The proved that there is always something left to learn about your partner.
