Peabody Award winner, twice Emmy award winner and seven times Emmy-nominated filmmaker Philip J. Day has been making award winning TV shows for over two decades. His first film "Japan Live Performance" for Channel Four Television received Best Arts Documentary at the San Francisco International Film Festival, while his recent hit series "Alaska: The Last Frontier' for Discovery Channel was nominated for two Emmy's in 2014.

Now living in Los Angeles, Philip J. Day is a prolific filmmaker having made over two hundred hours of primetime television in his distinguished career. Today, he heads up production company, Edge West, which is dedicated to making dynamic, original films for major broadcasters. His clients include National Geographic, Discovery Channel, TLC, History, PBS and MTV in the US. While in Britain the BBC, Channel Four, Channel Five and ITV were all regular clients.

His hi-octane films have received accolades wherever they have screened. His series Hollywood Machine was described as 'unmissable' by Time Out and 'a must for all budding filmmakers' by The Observer. His current comedy series for TLC, 'Sex Sent Me to the ER' is a number one hit for the network. 'Alaska: The Last Frontier' remains one of the most popular shows on Discovery Channel

'The Real Roswell', Day's first film with his new production company Edge West premiered on the National Geographic Channel in 2006 - and is still a popular audience favorite today. Tunnel To A Lost World (2007) was voted the Best TV Documentary of the Year in Turkey, the country where the film was shot. Less than a year later, Lost Cities of the Amazon was hailed by American audiences as one of the" films of the year" in the successful National Geographic Explorer series. In the summer of 2009, The Skyjacker That Got Away was the best ever rated film for the NGC series Undercover History and was nominated for an Emmy nomination in 2010.

A large slate of well received films in the last few years has resulted in 15 Telly Awards, two Emmy awards and seven Emmy nominations.

In 2012 his groundbreaking series Party Like was a ratings success for National Geographic Channel. Also in 2012 Volcano Time Bomb was a hit for Discovery Channel's popular series Curiosity. Recently Day moved into Exec Producing on popular TV series like Alaska: The Last Frontier for Discovery and the hugely successful Sex Sent Me to the ER for TLC.
