Grover Norquist Attends Burning Man In Nevada Desert

Grover Norquist, the political advocate best known for his anti-tax positions, was a surprising attendee at the annual Burning Man cultural event in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert.

Grover Norquist At Burning Man

Norquist’s attendance at Burning Man caught many by surprise, as Burning Man is thought to be an event for more liberal-leaning individuals than the founder and president of Americans for Tax Reform. However, Norquist frequently took to Twitter during the weeklong event to sing its praises and counter the stereotypes associated with Burning Man.

Burning Man. 65,000 participants. 1000s of works of art. Anyone who walks through Bm and only notices nudity tells you only about himself.

Never-Before-Seen Burning Man Photos Reveal The Birth Of A Counterculture

Never-Before-Seen Burning Man Photos Reveal The Birth Of A Counterculture
It's hard to believe that Burning Man's early years involved little more than a handful of hippies dancing around a seaside San Francisco bonfire.

Since its humble beginnings in 1986, the festival has swelled into an international phenomenon, drawing more than 60,000 individuals to the remote Nevada desert each August and spawning a subculture that permeates year round.

This collection of photos, provided exclusively to The Huffington Post, reveals a simpler side of The Burn, with founder Larry Harvey and his cohorts setting the scene first on Sf's Baker Beach, and a few years later, in Nevada's pop-up paradise of Black Rock City.

The photos, snapped by Larry's brother Stuart Harvey, are featured in an upcoming film, "Spark: A Burning Man Story," dedicated to the Playa's early beginnings. The documentary hit theaters the weekend, giving contemporary Burners an opportunity to get in touch with their roots before the 2013 celebration begins later this month.

‘Spark: A Burning Man Story’ Review: A Choreographed Conflagration Between Art and Commerce

The annual Burning Man event in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert is a bit of a mystery for those of us who exist outside certain artistic circles, and as such a bevy of assumptions have built up regarding what exactly happens there for a week each year. It’s a given for example that there are drugs, sex parties, and s’mores, and it’s a known fact that the event’s final night sees a bee-filled cage placed over an outsider’s head before the unlucky soul is locked in a giant, wooden figure and burned alive. But what else is Burning Man about? Steve Brown and Jessie Deeter set out to answer that question with the new doc Spark: A Burning Man Story, and while it conveniently neglects to comment on the bees it does offer an insight into the event’s history and what it takes to organize a gathering with nearly 60,000 visitors. 'Ahs' Premiere Date Revealed?!

'Ahs' Premiere Date Revealed?!
Production on "American Horror Story: Coven" is fully under way in New Orleans and though we've already seen Jessica Lange, Gabourey Sidibe, Taissa Farmiga, Emma Roberts and Jamie Brewer on set, two more "American Horror Story" alumni have popped up on the set.

Check out Denis O' Hare, who was nominated for an Emmy for his performance as Larry Harvey in Season 1 of "American Horror Story," and Lily Rabe, who played Season 1's Nora Montgomery and the devilish Sister Mary Eunice in Season 2, "Asylum," in costume below.

"American Horror Story" co-creator Ryan Murphy and the show's stars have been notoriously tight-lipped about the upcoming third season, subtitled "Coven." But at the Television Critics Association Summer 2013 press tour last week, Lange, returning "Horror Story" co-star Sarah Paulson and newcomers Kathy Bates and Angela Bassett gathered to give some "Coven" scoop.

Paulson announced she'll be playing Cordelia, the daughter of Lange's character Fiona,

Denis OHare Back for More in American Horror Story: Coven

'American Horror Story' creator Ryan Murphy has confirmed yet another familiar addition to the cast of the third season of FX's hit horror series. Actor Denis O'Hare is the welcome returning player to 'American Horror Story: Coven' the witchcraft based entry to the series which will no doubt feature a whole host of genre related nods and homage along the way. O'Hare as you'll remember played Larry Harvey the unfortunate burn victim of the unhinged Tate Langdon (played by Evan Peters) in the first season. Peters will also return with a fresh faced role to fill along with Frances Conroy, Taissa Farmiga, Jessica Lange, Lily Rabe and Sarah Paulson. Newcomers Kathy Bates ('Misery'), Gabourey Sidibe, Angela Bassett, Emma Roberts ('Scream 4') and Patti Lupone are also on board....

American Horror Story Finally Bringing Back True Blood King Denis O’Hare

American Horror Story: Coven is well on its way to being yet another balls-out insane chapter in Ryan Murphy’s anthology series and he’s bringing back some familiar faces we haven’t seen since the first season. We’ve known for months that Taissa Farmiga, who played Violet Harmon both alive and dead back in the fall of 2011, would be making a triumphant return. A good chunk of her co-stars for Coven appeared in Season 1 as well, but they were in Season 2, Asylum, as well. I was thinking it would be nice if they would bring back another cast member who hasn’t been seen since that first season at about the same time Denis O’Hare was announced to be returning.

The news came out over Murphy’s Twitter feed – no surprise there. The creator of American Horror Story would never pass up the chance to announce something to the masses himself.

Denis O'Hare Returning to Cast His Spell on American Horror Story: Coven

With incredible turns in "True Blood" and "American Horror Story" Season 1 (for which he received an Emmy nomination), it's a no-brainer that Denis O'Hare would be asked to return to "Ahs" for Season 3, subtitled "Coven."

Showrunner Ryan Murphy broke the news on Twitter that O'Hare, who played poor doomed Larry Harvey during the series' first season but didn't appear in "Ahs: Asylum," joins perennial returnee Evan Peters as the only male actors announced thus far for "Ahs: Coven." They're going to need each other when they face all the formidable women who have already signed on: Frances Conroy, Taissa Farmiga, Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Lily Rabe, Sarah Paulson, Gabourey Sidibe, Angela Bassett, Emma Roberts, and Patti Lupone.

Watch: Burning Man Hits The Big Screen
With 60,000 tickets that often sell out in under two hours, the allure of Burning Man is indisputable.

But as anyone who follows the festival knows, the playa is not without its controversies. From entry crises to safety concerns to serious questions about law enforcement, Burning Man faces a constant struggle between regulation and the event's free spirited mission.

In their new documentary, "Spark: A Burning Man Story," filmmakers Steve Brown and Jessie Deeter go behind the scenes to explore the inspiration, controversy and gravitational appeal of one of the world's most famous festivals.

The film will celebrate its world premiere next month at Austin's film, music and technology conference, South by Southwest.

"It's a dream come true to be back at SXSW with Spark," said Brown in a press release. "[Burning man founder] Larry Harvey once described his mission in leading Burning Man as creating a place that would give people permission to act on their dreams.

All 12 episodes of American Horror Story Season 1 (also referred to as American Horror Story: Murder House) are available, but they do not appear to be offered in HD at this time.

This release on Netflix is currently confirmed for Netflix in the Us only and it’s availability will depend on the deal that Netflix has in place with FX in specific countries. Assuming that FX continues its relationship with Netflix, it is likely that we’d see American Horror Story: Asylum released on Netflix at the same time next year. American Horror Story‘s first season was recently released on Blu-ray/DVD for those who are looking for a high definition presentation.

American Horror Story: Season 1 Blu-ray Review

I must admit that I was honestly a bit skeptical going into Season 1 of FX's ultra violent, overtly sexual hit American Horror Story: Season 1 on Blu-ray. Horror has had its fair share of great moments on TV, namely The Twilight Zone, Twin Peaks, Tales from the Crypt, and many episodes of The X-Files. In recent years, though, the idea of "Horror TV" has been watered down drivel that is all style but no substance; usually built around teen angst and processed sexual interludes. I went in to American Horror Story expecting more of the same but was pleasantly surprised and beyond impressed by just how damn good it really is. I was immediately intrigued by the wonderfully terrifying opening sequence and by the end of the pilot episode, I was hooked.

The story revolves around Ben and Vivien Harmon (Dylan McDermott and Connie Britton), a couple that has

The winners of the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards are...

Following the announcement of the Creative Arts Emmys earlier this month, the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards were handed out last night during a star-studded ceremony at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles as the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences celebrated the very best in primetime programming over the past year.

Despite being nominated in 17 categories, acclaimed drama Mad Men failed to register a single award, with its four year stream as Outstanding Drama Series broken by the Golden Globe-winning Homeland, while the other top honours went to Modern Family (Outstanding Comedy Series), Game Change (Outstanding Miniseries or TV Movie), The Daily Show with Jon Stewart (Outstanding Variety, Music, or Comedy Series) and The Amazing Race (Outstanding Reality-Competition Program).

Homeland continued its success in the acting categories, with Damian Lewis and Clare Danes named as Outstanding Lead Actor and Actress (Drama) respectively), while it also received the award for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series.

Homeland Cleans Up at the 2012 Emmy Awards

Well if you hadn't really heard of Homeland prior to this weekend, you probably have by now. The Showtime series pulled off a major upset at the 64th Annual Emmy Awards last night, winning a large chunk of the major awards in the Drama category over favourites like Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Boardwalk Empire and Game of Thrones. Claire Danes and Damian Lewis both took home awards for Lead Actress and Actor in a Drama Series, while the show also broke Mad Men's four-year win streak for Outstanding Drama Series. Elsewhere, Aaron Paul won his second Emmy for his supporting performance as Jesse Pinkman on Breaking Bad, while Julia Louis-Dreyfus won Best Lead Actress in a Comedy for Veep. Modern Family still took the Outstanding Comedy Series, however, while the HBO movie Game Change took the Outstanding Mini-Series or TV Movie. Kevin Costner did manage to pick up some

Burning Man fest lights up the playa -- and the Web
Painted bodies, futuristic-looking art projects, and a multitude of dusty bikes have descended on Black Rock City, Nevada for the annual Burning Man festival. Now in its 26th year, this year’s extravaganza of art and music is well underway, leading up to the climax — the burning of an effigy (the “man”) on Saturday night.

But this year you don’t have to be on the playa (what Burning Man regulars call the expanse of desert where the festival is held) to enjoy the spirit of the event. Ustream is streaming the entire week live at
