I can't say I'm the biggest Taylor Swift fan, but she wrote and recorded an original song for the big screen adaptation of The Hunger Games with The Civil Wars called Safe & Sound. It's really not that bad of a song. It kind of reminds me of the style of music from another band I listen to named Eisley. Listen to the song and hit us up with your thoughts!
Click Here to check out the song over on iTunes.
The movie has a wonderful large cast of actors that includes Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth,Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Stanley Tucci, Donald Sutherland, Wes Bentley, Toby Jones, Amandla Stenberg, Alexander Ludwig, Isabelle Fuhrman, Jacqueline Emerson, Paula Malcomson, Dayo Okeniyi, Jack Quaid, Leven Rambin, Willow Shields, and Lenny Kravitz.
Here's the Synopsis:

It may be considered the newest darling of the tweener crowd, but so far everything we've seen from The Hunger Games film adaptation has looked pretty promising, including this latest bit of promo in the form of an ad for China Glaze's "Capitol Colours" series of nail polishes featuring Elizabeth Banks' character, District 12 escort Effie Trinket.
MTV provides our first look at the ad and explains it as follows:
Just look at Ms. Trinket in this photo! Her perfectly curled hair is a very soft shade of pink, further accented by a purple headpiece and a fuchsia top. Effie’s makeup is equally bold, with hot pink eyeshadow above and below her eyes, plus matching lipstick (not to mention those feather-like adornments on her eyelashes). The ad features small swatches of what we presume to be the official 12 colors to be launched as part of the “Capitol Colours” line, »

An awesome new poster for The Hunger Games has recently been revealed and it does a great job of emphasizing the ‘game’ part of the movie, with the tagline, “the world will be watching,” providing insight into another element of the movie.
In The Hunger Games, Katniss Everdeen and the other Tributes are forced to take part in what might be considered the ultimate reality show, where one person is declared the winner and everyone else dies. In the Suzanne Collins novel that the film is based on, Katniss learns how to basically work the system, getting aid from the viewers that are watching the game unfold. Unless the movie gets really excessive with voiceovers, I’m not sure how that aspect of the story will be translated to the big screen, but the first trailer looks pretty good so I have faith that everything will be handled well. Basically, »

Tripp (Rex Linn) speaks to the media about escaped prisoner, Dante Kroll (Franky G) advising people to be vigilant and not to approach him, then tells Ryan (Jonathan Togo) to keep an eye on one of his associates, Mike Darrow (Ramses Jimenez). Thought he said to watch out for him, not chase after him. He's arrested and provides Ryan with the whereabouts of Dante. Of course, he's not at the location but Tripp notices his brand of cigarettes at the abandoned warehouse. What possessed Delko (Adam Rodriguez) to wear a bright orange, prison-issue shirt? Even though he wanted to stand out in a crowd, especially at the arena, he was an easy mark going into the warehouse dressed like that. A man is pulled over by a policeman and is dragged out of his car and beaten to death, before his bag is stolen. Natalia (Eva La Rue) questions a »

Tripp asks if it's the work of escapee Patrick Clarkson (Kevin Corrigan) who escaped along with Meemo in the episode 9.4 Manhunt. This appears to be confirmed by an eyewitness, Greg Calomer (Mark Pellegrino). He was immediately my suspect as he seemed to be motivated by a reward - but in actual fact - he was at the Cs. So he came back as the guilty usually return to the scene of the crime, secondly he was trying to be helpful and ingratiating himself into the investigation under the motivation of money. Lionsgate has released a new image from The Hunger Games featuring Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss being escorted to her training. This is one of my most anticipated films of next year, I loved the trailer that was released, and I'm hoping to hell this movie turns out to be everything I imagined. I love the book, and I just have such high expectations. This is one of those story's that needs to be done right. So far I like what I see.

We’re hearing from Deadline that Coal Miner’s Daughter and Amazing Grace helmer Michael Apted will be taking over directing duties on Of Men and Mavericks (formerly Mavericks) from L.A. Confidential‘s Curtis Hanson, with only 15 days left in the production. Thankfully, this isn’t because the film is in trouble; unfortunately, it’s because Hanson had “health complications from a recent heart surgery.”
Anyone with a sense of perspective understands that a production being shut down doesn’t come close to equaling someone’s demise, but, nevertheless, it’s good to know that things are getting back into order. If there’s anything I can really hope at the moment — other than Hanson‘s good health, of course — it’s that Apted doesn’t do anything to make it stand out from the majority of the film, if only for the sake of a consistent vision.

Walden Media's surfing drama Of Men and Mavericks is scheduled to wrap production next month, although a new director will be at the helm. Michael Apted is filling in for director Curtis Hanson for the last 15 days of principal photography, starting on Monday.
Curtis Hanson recently experienced complications from a heart surgery, which leaves him incapable of finishing the production. It isn't known if Michael Apted will oversee post-production as well, or when Curtis Hanson is expected to fully recover.
Of Men and Mavericks stars newcomer Jonny Weston as surfing legend Jay Moriarty, who conquered the treacherous Northern California waves known as the "Mavericks." Gerard Butler is playing Rick "Frosty" Hesson, Moriarty's mentor who taught him how to ride the formidable waves.
Walden Media has set an October 26, 2012 release date for Of Men and Mavericks, which is shooting Northern California.

Usually when a director parachutes in to take over a film from someone else while it's still shooting, it's not a good sign. More often than not it's a sign that the studio has decided to give the original filmmaker the boot (such as reportedly happened with Oliver Hirschbiegel on The Invasion). But in the case of Curtis Hanson's Of Men And Mavericks, it would appear that he himself has called in a little help, with Michael Apted stepping in to tackle the final 15 days of shooting.
No, it's not because any executive has decided that Hanson shouldn't continue - it's due to health issues brought about by recent heart surgery.
Apted will take over megaphone duties from Monday, overseeing the last couple of weeks' work on the film, which finds Jonny Weston playing legendary big wave surfer Jay Moriarty. The plot chronicles his rise to the top levels of his sport, »

Walden Media is currently in production on Of Men and Mavericks, a drama about the mentorship of big wave surfer Jay Moriarty. Curtis Hanson (8 Mile) was directing the picture, but is now recovering from "health complications" from a recent heart surgery. Deadline reports that Michael Apted (The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader) is stepping in to finish the final 15 days of principal photography. Gerard Butler stars, playing mentor to Moriarty (played by newcomer Jonny Weston), a soul surfer who made his name on the waves of Mavericks in Northern California. Elizabeth Shue, Abigail Spencer, and Levin Rambin also star in the October 26, 2012 release. Best of luck to Hanson on a speedy recovery. Hit the jump for background on Moriarty. Here's the Wikipedia bio on Moriarty: Born in Georgia in 1978, Moriarity and his family moved to Santa Cruz, California, soon after his birth. His father was Green Beret parachutist and a surfer, »

Lionsgate released a trailer for their new movie, The Hunger Games a couple of weeks ago and to me, it looked pretty good. It showed us some of the storyline which was good for me as I know nothing about The Hunger Games. My wife, Laraine on the other hand has just read the book and hasn’t seen the trailer so while on a journey to Eastbourne last weekend, we decided to record a Podcast talking about what I knew about the movie and without giving anything away, she expands on my knowledge from the trailer and other marketing materials that have been released.
In the Podcast, we discuss the rating that the film should be set at, what people can expect, a little bit more of the story and who certain people are in the trailer. We try and keep it very high level so don’t delve too deep into the storyline. »

Hot on the heels of releasing the official trailer for The Hunger Games, Lionsgate has provided People Magazine with a few new stills from the film. In addition, we've heard some rumblings about the studio already attempting to lock in a writer for the sequel, entitled Catching Fire.
Per Deadline Lionsgate is courting Oscar-winning Slumdog Millionaire and 127 Hours scribe Simon Beaufoy to write Catching Fire, the second installment of the three-book series that tracks the life and death adventures of Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence). It also looks like Gary Ross, who directed The Hunger Games, is coming back for the sequel. Ross originally intended to write the outline for the second film and script it with author Suzanne Collins (they teamed to do a lot of writing on the first film), but the post-production schedule on The Hunger Games has made that difficult. There is no start date on the sequel, »
