Sir Bruce Forsyth has spoken about his time hosting Strictly Come Dancing, saying that it made him feel "stale" towards the end of his tenure.

The presenter stepped down as a regular co-host of Strictly earlier this year, after ten years of presenting the primetime BBC One show.

When asked on Alan Carr: Chatty Man if his return to Strictly Come Dancing for the Christmas Special was emotional, he said: "It is emotional, when you've been doing something like that for 10 years.

He added: "I was beginning to maybe feel a little bit stale, and I'm glad I stopped, because I've got this other show now [Bruce Forsyth's Hall of Fame], which I'm loving, so it's good to have a change."

Speaking about his former co-host Tess Daly, Forsyth said: "She is lovely, but of course she's taken over my spot in the show – all the talk about Claudia, Claudia taking my place – she wasn't. »

Strictly Come Dancing's Brendan Cole: 'The pressure can tell on some'

Strictly Come Dancing professional Brendan Cole has said that pressures of the show "can tell on some couples".

The dancer, who is partnered with actress Sunetra Sarker for this series, added that they had not experienced any tension between them.

Speaking to Digital Spy and others, Cole said: "It's a funny one this show, because it's a very intense relationship that you're thrust into with no option.

"There are no choices. It was like Sunetra was just given me whether she liked it or not. And she has to make every situation work. But under the pressure, it can tell on some couples.

"Luckily, it hasn't really got to us and we just crack on and get the job done that we need to do and hopefully support each other as much as we can."
