i had the great pleasure of seeing Christian McKay in a one man play about Orson Welles called Rosebud at the Dukes Theatre in Lancaster, where he played Orson across the years. It was one of the best theatre experiences I've had, and I've seen Ian McKellen's Lear and Patrick Stewart's Prospero. I have always been inspired and fascinated by Welles and Christian captured him completely. i also saw him in the same theatre in An Inspector Calls and he was incredible again. I wish his cinematic Orson Welles had been something shaped around his performance rather than a film which seems to be about Zac Efron's character, I've not seen the film but I hoped a great Welles biopic could be made so McKay could play him. That script may still be out there and if its good and a great director is involved, Christian McKay could bring some of that Rosebud magic onscreen. An Oscar nom may come from Me and Orson Welles and I for one would be very happy that someone so talented gains that recognition
