John Collee (The Alchemyst, Master And Commander) will adapt the Chinese fantasy novel series The Mirror, which has been optioned by Ruyi Films and Syon Media.
Written by Cang Yue, the contemporary fantasy series has sold more than seven million copies to date.
This franchise will be developed for the international market as multiple English-language feature films, along with the publishing of the books.
Collee will adapt the script of the first feature, The Mirror: Twin Cities, to be produced by Ke Liming (So Young), VFX producer Danny Bergeron (Jupiter Ascending) and Andrew Mason (The Water Diviner).
“I look forward to developing the first of these extraordinary novels as a movie. The series has the potential to become a massive international franchise,” said Collee.
