Reese WitherspoonMindy Kaling and Oprah may be appearing together in the forthcoming Disney movie A Wrinkle in Time, but the actresses have already proven their friendship goes beyond being cordial cast mates.

On Sunday, the Witherspoon and Kaling boarded a private jet together in Hawaii en route to New Zealand, where they’ll be shooting the live-action film, based on the novel by Madeleine L’Engle and directed by Frozen’s Jennifer Lee. Kaling, 37, even posted a selfie after she and Witherspoon got lei’d on the tarmac, below.

The 89th Academy Awards' five nominees for Best Documentary Feature Film, Ava DuVernay's 13th; Roger Ross Williams's Life, Animated; Ezra Edelman's O.J.: Made In America; Raoul Peck's I Am Not Your Negro; and Gianfranco Rosi's Fire At Sea (Fuocoammare) have in common that they were screened at Doc NYC in 2016.

The world has gone gaga for La La Land and it’s not difficult to see why. We love a good musical number. Sometimes there’s nothing more uplifting than a catchy tune with some fun choreography and other times music is the best, if only, way to depict a character's despair, fear or hope. Music taps into something very primal in us all and can often extract laughter and tears easier than two hours’ worth of dialogue.

Numerous classic musicals have graced the big screen since cinema began, but the 21st century alone has seen some fantastic songs in film. Some considered ‘musical films’ and others ‘films with music’, here are my top picks for this century’s best on-screen musical sequences.
