Stranger Things Gets a New Theme Song Sung by Natasha Bedingfield

I love Stranger Things, I love Natasha Bedingfield’s songs and voice, but They Do Not Go Together. It’s like trying to add pickles to a peanut butter sandwich. Unless you’re crazy or a pregnant lady, no offense, it just doesn’t work. The whole 1990’s feel that’s given to the trailer is enough to make a person roll their eyes and wonder just what the people at Honest Trailers are really thinking. It’s cute if you like that I suppose but it’s essentially taking a couple of things people love and mashing them together just for the novelty of it. Great,

Exclusive: Natasha Bedingfield on How Her Struggling Parents Fed a Family of 6 on $6 a Day
Wearing a gorgeous Bebe Aguirre floral two-piece and belting out fan favorite “Pocketful of Sunshine” at one of her bucket list concert venues, it wouldn’t be surprising if Natasha Bedingfield was secretly pinching herself at the Hollywood Bowl earlier this month.

Since she began pursuing her music dreams, the 35-year-old singer has performed for the Pope and former President Barack Obama, earned a Grammy nomination, toured with Justin Timberlake and New Kids on the Block and collaborated with everyone from Lifehouse and Rascal Flatts to Nick Carter and Nicki Minaj.

But the glitzy life is a world away from her childhood in the U.K., where the singer reveals her New Zealand-born parents, John and Molly, struggled to make ends meet, feeding their family on less than $6 a day and relying heavily on supermarket scraps.

Variety Introduces ‘Synch This!’ — New Music Column Spotlighting Songs Ripe for Licensing

Variety Introduces ‘Synch This!’ — New Music Column Spotlighting Songs Ripe for Licensing
“Synch This” is a new Variety column written by Mac Presents VP and former Billboard branding reporter Andrew Hampp, highlighting new songs that we deem ripe for synch use. Insiders can skip over the “Synch 101” in the introduction, which will be linked to in future columns, to get straight to this week’s pick.

The term “synch” is a funny one – even if you’ve never heard it used before, it’s a convenient catch-all for something you hear every single day.

Short for “music synchronization license,” synchs have long been a prime method for music, new and old, to get discovered in TV commercials, box-office hits and the latest buzzy TV hit. So much so that synch revenue accounted for 2% of the recorded music industry’s global revenue in 2016, or roughly $314 million, an all-time high.

The first time I heard the term “synch” used it was in reference to “Unwritten” singer Natasha Bedingfield’s latest album

Boy George pulled out all the stops in the final challenge of The New Celebrity Apprentice, but his bid fell short as American Ninja Warrior host Matt Iseman was crowned winner Monday during the NBC show's 2017 season finale.
