Five New Motion Posters (And One Regular Poster) Land For Marvel’s The Defenders

We’re now less than two months away from Marvel and Netflix’s highly anticipated miniseries, The Defenders. The Avengers of the TV world, the eight-part show will unite the four heroes previously introduced in their own solo outings on the streaming service for the first time. Namely, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist.

While we still await a second trailer for the show, which should be here soon, we now have these five new motion posters, which you can check out below. The first features the four of them together while the rest showcase each of the heroes in turn. The motion posters label each character with some personality traits that perfectly sum them up as well. The religious Matt Murdock is a “sinner” as well as a “savior.” Jessica Jones is both a “smart-ass” and a “bad-ass.” Luke Cage is “unbreakable” and “unstoppable” and Iron Fist is a “weapon” and a “warrior.” Nirvana’s “Come As You Are” also plays over the top, tying everything together.

In addition to that, Marvel and Netflix have also released a regular old-fashioned poster as well, which likewise stars all four Defenders united. They don’t have the colourful outfits of the Avengers, but you have to admit these guys have got the tough-looking glare thing down.

Despite its impending arrival, much of The Defenders is still wrapped in mystery. We don’t really know what will bring New York’s finest streetwise heroes together, though we’ve no doubt that Sigourney Weaver’s villain will be giving them a run for their money. But even then, we have no idea who the actress is truly playing – though rumours state that she’s a gender-swapped adaptation of crime boss Alexander Bont from the comics. Likewise, we don’t know how the mammoth supporting cast will fit in. For instance, how major a role will Elodie Yung play as the newly-resurrected Elektra? Time will tell, but we’re certainly excited to find out.

The Defenders stars Charlie Cox, Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter and Finn Jones and lands on the streaming service on August 18th. »

New ‘The Defenders’ Poster Is the Worst Superhero Poster You Will Ever See

22 June 2017 7:28 AM, PDT | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

Netflix has released a poster for The Defenders, and it’s a little astonishing at how bad this poster is. The Defenders is the Netflix-equivalent of The Avengers. It’s Marvel’s big crossover that’s been in the works for years that will bring Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and idiot manchild Iron Fist (Finn Jones) together. And they’re all superheroes! They all have superpowers! On the one hand, I understand that if you’re interested in The Defenders, you’ve probably watched the individual series, but if you haven’t, … »

The Defenders Debuts New Key Art That Really Accentuates the Attractiveness of Netflix's New Marvel Show

Netflix's newest Marvel outing, which puts Luke Cage, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist all together for some serious crime fighting (or elevator riding), doesn't debut until August, but it's not hard to tell that this is going to be a good time, especially if this key art is what it always looks like when you get Mike Colter, Krysten Ritter, Charlie Cox, and Finn Jones in the same room.  It's like they're staring into our soul, and we will happily let them continue to do that »

War is being waged for control of the Big Apple, and while details are scarce so far, it seems that Sigourney Weaver’s character is going to be one of the main antagonists, following in the footsteps of the likes of evildoer such as Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio). The Oscar nominee will play Alexandra, the sophisticated and way too smart head of an ancient organization who are up to no good. Also on the bad guy front are the Hand, a group of assassins who not only have ridiculous martial arts skills but also have a pesky habit of coming back from the dead. In fact, they even resurrected Elektra (Elodie Yung), the ex-girlfriend of Daredevil, aka Matthew Murdock.

The series will also bring back Daredevil’s mentor Stick (Scott Glen), Matt’s legal partner Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson), Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), Jeri Hogarth (Carrie-Anne Moss), Trish Walker (Rachael Taylor), Malcolm Ducasse (Eka Darville), Misty Knight (Simone Missick), and arguably the best part of “Iron Fist,” Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick). Oh yeah, Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson) will also be back because she’s in all of them.

Check out the individual moving posters and the badass, stylish team poster below feating all of The Defenders giving their best perfume ad stare (except for Daredevil, who’s wearing shades):

During a new interview, Chris Evans revealed he actually added another movie to his contract for Avengers 4, teasing that this movie will "wrap everything up." Here's what he had to say below.
