Ruslana Lyzhychko was born on the 24 of May 1973 and was raised in L'viv, in the ancient capital of Galychyna. She graduated from L'viv Lisenko Concervatory. She's a song-writer, composer, producer, and arranger and director of her videos. She has recorded 8 CDs and is now the most popular singer in Ukraine. She won the 2004 Eurovision Song contest in Turkey and was the first Ukrainian to win World Music Award as Best Selling Ukrainian Act in Las Vegas.

Spent her childhood in a village Konyushki, in Ivano-Frankovskyi region. This village is not far from Rogatin, where famous Roxolana is from.
She is the first Ukrainian whose albums has gone twice Planitum
She won the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 with the song Wild Dances, which earned 280 points, receiving points from 34 of the 35 other countries participating in the contest (the exception being Switzerland whose own entry was eliminated after scoring no points in the semi-final).
She writes, composes and produces her own songs and music videos.
