The ensemble cast also includes Rusty Joiner (Stuck in Love) and Justine Wachsberger (Divergent), with Starr producing the indie along with McGinly and Pace PicturesHeath Ryan.

The story centers on Nathan (Starr) as he examines his life and relationships with friends, his girlfriend Mary (Woll) and her young daughters, plus his larger-than-life mentor (Fred Melamed).

Sam Was Here But He Wishes He Wasn't in this First Trailer

A new trailer was released for Christophe Deroo's Sam Was Here. The clip shows Sam (Rusty Joiner) alone in the desert. Accused of murder, he struggles with his new, violent reality. The film also stars: Sigrid La Chapelle and Rhoda Pell. Slated for a release in France, Sam Was Here will also release in the United States, sometime in 2017. Sam wanders the Californian desert in search of clients. But, there is no one around. A local radio station talks of a child killer. Exclusive: Psychological thriller tells the story of a loner who imprisons a girl in a cage.

Paris-based genre specialist WTFilms has taken world sales on Spanish director Carles Torrens psychological thriller Pet, starring Dominic Monaghan as a creepy loner who goes to extreme lengths to woo a girl he is obsessed with.

Based on a Jeremy Slater, whose credits include the upcoming The Exorcist TV remake and Fantastic Four, the Us-set thriller premiered at SXSW in the Midnight section in March.

Lost and Lord Of The Rings star Monaghan co-stars as Seth, a loner who works in an animal shelter, who is obsessed with former classmate Holly, played by Ksenia Solo. After she spurns his advances he locks her up in one of the animal cages. But Holly is not your average victim, and starts turning tables on her assailant.

Variety reports that Writers, a drama which set Greg Kinnear and Jennifer Connelly in the lead roles back in January, has staked out the rest of its primary cast — and, to the surprise of yours truly, it’s actually pretty solid. The actress has signed onto the upcoming family dramedy, "Writers," starring Greg Kinnear and Jennifer Connelly. From newcomer Josh Boone, the film follows a literary celebrity (Kinnear) who is still hung up on his ex-wife (Connelly). Collins stars as their college-aged daughter, who -- like mother, like daughter -- is lusted after by her aspiring-writer schoolmate, played by Logan Lerman. The film weaves together the narratives of each family members over the course of a year. Nat Wolff, Liana Liberato and Kristen Bell have also joined the cast; Bell will take up the role as Kinnear's friend who tries to help him move on from his breakup.
