Popularized the term "mullet head" (a style of haircut) in 1994 although the slang was first used twenty seven years previously by George Kennedy to describe the haircuts of Southern men in the movie Cool Hand Luke (1967).
They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame the same night as Ad Rock's former father-in-law Donovan.
The lead guitar track of their signature song "No Sleep Till Brooklyn" was played by Slayer guitarist Kerry King.
